The numbers
Analysis / Economy
By what measure is Australia’s economy leading the world? We went searching
The Coalition's repeated claims that Australia's economy is one of the world's strongest can be refuted by simply looking at the numbers. https://www.crikey.com.au/2022/04/27/is ... newsletter
How can any Australian leader, prospective or incumbent, even deign to claim Australia's economy is world leading when the world already knows that the UK's economy is top of the class. Bloris has been saying this for the best part of 3 years already.

Sorry, take a number.
Pluck a number that suits your purposes, be it 5, 10 or 20 years. Ignore world events like Covid, the WFC etc, make any argument you like. It's all fabricated to support a point of view.

So the Aussie's National Union of Cherrypickers is a serious force to be reckoned with?

That's a kick in the shins.

Do the Libs have a bit of a women problem? Female voters aren't that fond of them?

Curses. I missed the opportunity to use the word "sheila" in my earlier post in a thread where it belongs.

I'm the reverse on the China question. I don't think the current Australian government is that flash in the international arena. There's a lot of room for improvement.

I must start taking far more notice of your thoughts on Oz politics, Cali - given your thus-far demonstrated insight and knowledge. ;)

3 weeks to go, I doubt very much that these polls will move much before election day unless a huge event unfolds

Mr Whistles. I noticed last night you had a few more words to say after the 'What a crock of xxxx', part, a bit of freedom of expression. I did not take offence nor complain to management about those words. So do you know why it was edited. It did not worry me at all. Although I did have a chuckle about it.

Interesting that Whistler is relying on the RoyMorgan poll predictions. At the last election. I believe they had Shorten’s removalist booked to move him into the lodge. For Whistler’s edification, without labouring on the point, the 2019 RoyMorgan poll predicted labor to win with 66% of those canvassed advising a labour win. Go figure.

roy morgan polls seem skewed to portray things
not as they really are. credibility called into question

i'm not surprised they're utilized by fringe here [-(

Now, now. The Australian Labor Party is hardly the fringe. It will be interesting to see how accurate the polling is this time around.

I have wondered for some time now why the mainstream media has not looked closer, and questioned, the twice sacked Scotty from Marketing's murky past. :-k

I'd guess they have prodded and prodded and kept coming up against very expensive lawyers and the players hiding behind old confidentiality agreements.

Past catching up with Scott - https://www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/202 ... 013803#mtr
this is the worst kind of " journalism " if( a stretch
you can even call it that ? editorials , scores of them , which aren't news but " opinions" of writers
too embarrassed to even attach their name . all
veiled innuendo, borderline libel , smearing on a
weekly basis. it's a pro-labor rag , playing dirty game
