OK we're getting somewhere, from reading your message I understand that you're living in the first home area and TOT ADSL is your ISP.
lee wrote:We are aware that since the earthquake in Taiwan, some of the local ISP's haven't yet re-routed their traffic to the proper internet backbone.
This would therefore indicate that TOT ADSL for the First Home area have not yet re-routed their traffic to the proper backbone after the Taiwan Earthquake.

TOT contact details as follows:
21/68 Wattananuwong Road, Tambon Mak Kang, Amphur Mueang, Udon Thani 41000
Telephone: 0-4224-8212, 0-4224-2924
Fax: 0-4224-3984
e-mail: udontani@tot.co.th

As I write this I am sending them an email.

Fingers crossed! :D

I would guess that half of the LOCAL forum members are unable to get to this site. Seems to me, that this just started around last friday, prior no problem, so its hard to blame it on a quake from last month, or longer :|

I have contacted TOT via telephone and email, I didn't get very far with the call due to my limited Thai and have yet to recieve a reply via email.

I have also sent many emails to my host in hope that they can give me some idea to what's causing the problem.

I'm doing everything I can and I'm sorry for the inconvienience.

My Thai's pretty good, it just gets difficult when the subject matter is technical and you are trying to explain stuff like Gateway Timeouts, internet routing, connection problems, backbones etc.

A few lessons wouldn't hurt though! :D

Looks to be working again without a proxy, with TOT. But like before, it could be temporary! :D

I'm not really sure the exact cause of the problem, the host or TOT never gave me a straight answer. The fault could have either been the TOT ISP, or the hosts server could have been causing the problem. Either way it's working now so that's the most important.

Fingers crossed for the future. :D

Well here we go again :!:

Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred:

Code: Select all

A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request.
Please contact the administrator.

or maybe it this

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /var/www/html/includes/db/mysql.php on line 75

Warning: mysql_real_escape_string(): A link to the server could not be established in /var/www/html/includes/db/mysql.php on line 75

or this

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

guess we could blame it on the two month old Quake :!:

But what's strange to me, is that there was no problem, before the UN-TESTED New Format by our emanate enlightened web sage :!:

But lets just blame it on TOT, its so dam slow anyways :!:
