Ghost Members
What is the rationale for allowing members to hide their presence when logged in to the forum, or the fact that they have been logged in to post, but seemingly lack the courage of their convictions to appear in the "logged on in the previous 24 hours" stats?
From my (unscientific) observations, it seems to be confined to a narrow band of members from a particular sector of the political spectrum.
I am happy to be educated.

Re: Ghost Members
I suspect that like me, many members dont even know if they are hidden or otherwise, and I didn't realise there was a "logged on in the last 24hrs" stat, or for that matter why anyone would want to check said info.

Re: Ghost Members
You are not hidden unless you take the deliberate step to hide yourself.
Hence my OP - why would someone want to hide themself, and why is it a "feature" of the forum.

Could it be that the radical left are not ready to come out? Or, could it be that the radical right are not ready to come out? Or is it Niggly? I'm not going to be able to sleep until the mystery is solved.

It is a standard feature of phpBB (which is what the forum is built with) and can be disabled by the admin.
Never seen the point of it either. It is disabled on another lesser known and much lesser used udon based kiddies forum

Appearing "logged in" certainly proves courage of convictions. It is a brave, noble, bold move by strong men who aren't afraid of letting others know they wear tampons and pussy hats.
*fawning admiration for all those brawny (insert pronoun of choice here) who appear logged-in.*

I haven't been to Church (Anglican) in 65 years. Did anything happen in my absence?jackspratt wrote: ↑June 26, 2022, 9:19 pmIt's 10am Sunday morning Uncle - check back in when you get back from church.

I have always said those that wish to hide have something they do not want others to see or in some cases using it a means to verbally attack others. In short they are Cads and Bounders, not worth even acknowledging

I remember it made the Top Ten. But, I can't remember if it was a hit by the Beatles, Herman's Hermits or Iggy Pop.

Much Ado about nothing.
Best being part of this forum by placing the intellectual challenged on foes list. A lot less post to read and a great time saver.
