Any places selling bottles of Beer Laos in Nong Khai?

Or do I have to do my deeds and cross the boarder? 1 slab of the dark beers, or 2 cos the misses is carrying em. I dont want her to struggle too much

Its à¸ƒ25 a slab here in the UK for Beer Lao but you have to buy 2 for them to deliver. Odd that you can get the stuff 6000 miles from were its made but the neighbouring country has no sign of it!

Failing that does anyone know of any decent local dark beers?

There is a distributor in Nong Khai: NKT Import 042-413231. Give them a call.

The distributor is selling cases of the lager in small bottles only. Cost is 696 baht/case. You have to pick it up at his office in Nong Khai. Minimum of 5 cases. His office is located across the street from Tesco-Nong Khai, NKT Import. Next shipment is due next month. Presently, the only retailers they have are in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya. He said they do not have any in Isaan at the moment. I do not know where Kiwi Cafe in Khon Kaen gets their Beer Lao.

Oh Bugger, even I think she will struggle carrying 5 cases!!! Lager and small bottles looks like the Large bottles and Dark beer must be the Thai equivalent of the Holy Grail

Khon Kaen could be on the cards for a trip then when i am over there.

Beerlao Dark only comes in small bottles. Beerlao lager comes in small and large bottles and cans. The cost in Laos is 20 baht /small bottle.
