Last I heard from one of Greg Swan's countrymen was that he was back in Australia driving trucks. Great guy.

mrbeerlao, I sent you a few PMs inquiring about NK and your buddy Big Greg. Never heard back. 8)

Is this bar "proper"? Quasi-proper? :(

Last time I was there, Aussie Greg was showing an Eagles concert on his TV/stereo. That indicates to me that the bar is clearly quite improper. But he followed that up with a Rolling Stones concert which was proper in the extreme. I might visit this week to determine the correct level of propriety.

Go straight into NK, under the decorative dragons. Make a R at the dragon water fountain "T" heading E on the main road toward the NK bus terminal. About 1 kilometer after the water fountain, you'll see a red and whiter Yamaha dealer on the R side of the road. Turn R into the soi before the Yamaha dealer. Greg's is about 100 m in on the R side.

I looked for this place on Monday while I was waiting for the wife and friends to return from Laos shopping trip. The red and white sign I saw was Honda, not Yamaha. I found the Nongkhai City Hotel, but couldn't find the Aussie Bar. It was pouring down rain, I'm mean really hard, so I didn't get out and walk around. But while I was parked at the curb waiting for the rain to let up, a lady walked over to my car with umbrella in hand to help me inside. I thought maybe this was the place, but it turned out to be "Happy Bar", owned by a brit named Terry, and his wife Kay. Had a couple drinks and a BLT. Will make another attempt to find Greg's next trip.
Every day I wake up is a good day.

I did see that place, but didn't see a sign, but like I said it was a downpour of rain and everything looked dark inside. Will check it out next trip, thanks.
