I'm coming to Udon for two weeks over xmas and new year so will be around for the 23rd and 30th December. If any team needs an extra player due to players migrating home for xmas or whatever then let me know.

I would just like it to be known the forum that even though I have signed with the Orange Moon on a short-term contract I will in fact be retaining ownership of my merchandising rights and under no circumstances will the Orange Moon be using my name for advertising and / or sponsorship purposes. 8)

The demise of the O'tooles and Patricks Army 2 necessitates some re-organizing of the league. There are several routes than could be taken but after talking to several players the following appears to be the simplest, fairest and most straightforward way to go -
games already played against OT and/or PA2 will be voided i.e. any points scored will be reduced to 0.
Games against OT and/or PA2 that have yet to be played will be voided too (0 points scored)
The fixture list will remain the same but on the weeks that a team is due to play either of the disbanded teams the team can have a night off! This will give the opportunity to either cheer on another team, barrack another team, practice, get drunk or sit at home with the wife/gf and watch Thai soap operas (Far East Enders?)! I think the Irish Clock team will probably need the practice!
This weeks result sheet and league table will reflect these changes and can be viewed at Glyn's website and/or the udondayandnight site later today.

Sorry guys i've been real bussy with xmas business and family, the results are being updated though and can always be seen at www.englishmansretreat.com usually by late evening Thursdays.

We had a weird 2 weeks, beating the clock on their home ground and then getting a wompping by the Clock on our turf the following week.

Funny thing was when we played at the clock we had a girly side out as most my regulars had buggered off for the New year. The second week we had a strong team but still went home with tails between our legs.

By-the-way, Harleys has been open now for several weeks. Things to mention - now has a couple of TVs and the Beer is cheaper, oh! and there's a naked lady standing in the centre taking a shower.

Molly's Boys are at home (Harley -O'Tooles) tonight playing against 50/50bar.

It is with deep regret that I advise you of the death of Martin, one of the Irish Clock's pool team and a thorough gentleman. I have no details,as yet, but it appears to be a short illness as he played pool with us last week and showed no signs of being 'mai sabai'. He was one of Udon's 'characters', driving his tuk-tuk and wearing his little bag over his shoulder (even when playing pool). I for one, will miss him. Condolences to his family. R.I.P.
Bobby.

I am really shocked and saddened by this news. Martin was one of the nicest guys I've met in Udon, always friendly, chatty and a good pool player. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

results are in and can be seen at http://www.englishmansretreat.com

We're counting down the final 6 weeks and things are a little closer than usual, so keep watching.

As we're on the Things to do and going out forum...

has anyone tried the Monkey bar in Nutty Park, went there after playing pool on Tuesday night, Dean the owner closed over xmas with staff probs, but now hes back in the swing of things. Leo is the cheapest in Nutty Park at 70bt a big one, and his chicken steak burgers are the dogs danglies.

Well, that's it! The end of another pool season. Once again the Man United of the pool league, A Beer too Far, romped home to get the winners' trophy - closely followed by the team from Fiddlers Green. A trophy presentation evening was held on Tuesday at the winning bar, and everyone is looking forward to the start of season 4. Once Songkran is over and a meeting held, the new season should get underway on 28th April. I already am aware of some new blood coming in so maybe A beer too far will have to watch out. All the final results and tables can be found on the Englishman's retreat website as usual. If you would like to join the league I can be contacted on udonpool@hotmail.com

I play in the pool league and I don't even know...but it would be nice to see the results. Most bars participating have the schedule posted so you can find out who's playing who by dropping by.

You don't know until the end of the season who has won the league. Then it's just word of mouth. Never seen a league table. Just as well we all play for the fun of it. :D

I am sure if you asked Bob, he would add you to his e-mail list, which gets an updated league table each week.
Alternately, I do a one sheet fixture/results/league table as soon as I get the results from Bob. If anyone wants a copy of that I can send it. Just send your e-mail address to stattointhailand@yahoo.co.uk and as soon as it's done each week I will forward a copy.
I would post it here, but unfortunately I don't know how to upload an excel sheet to the forum.
