Only pictures can be uploaded to the Forum Statto.
So, if the spreadsheet can 'fit' on the screen, you can open it on your pc & use a screen capture program (like MWSnap) and then upload he picture it produces.
Useless idea if it fills more than 1 screen though

Truly Amazing, in these days when computers can do anything from correct your golf swing to virtualy wipe your backside, nobody has come up with a way that you can put a spreadsheet (that's been in existance for about 25 years) onto the forum

...... this is an example of what Bob said using “Paint”.

If you press the “PrtScn” button with your spreadsheet visible on screen you can copy the whole of what was visible on your monitor screen onto “Paint” and then edit it down to just the spreadsheet.

• Open “Paint” window.
• Go to spreadsheet - make sure the bit you want to publish is visible on screen.
• Hit “PrtScn” button.
• Go to “Paint” window; enter the content of what you copied using “Ctrl” & “V” keys together and the contents of the whole of what was visible on your monitor should now show on “Paint”.
• Edit it as appropriate and save it as a “jpeg” file - that file can then be uploaded to UM.

This is an example of part of a spreadsheet I just copied using “PrtScn” and “Paint”.

NB. The file will not upload if it is outside the uploading limits.

i do not know if jimbo belongs to any finance forums where spreadsheets can be exchanged on line, but I am certainly not aware of any general interest forums that allows for anything other than photos or videos to be uploaded. Many, many forums use the phpBB software to "host" their Forum. phpBB does have limited photo uploading enabled within its software, but most people use a third party software photo repository & phpBB just allow a link to it Equally videos are 'allowed' via a third party who actually hosts the video - like YouTube. I guess if some third party started to 'host' spreadsheets then phpBB would allow that linkage as well - I guess just not too much demand, otherwise someone would be trying to make a $ out of it... :D

Jimbo has kindly shown the 'quick & simple' (nothing other than Windows required) method, some of the (small size & totally free) programs allow just parts of the screen to be captured & saved.

Anything is possible with the software, however like Bob says the demand is possibly not enough to make it a worthwhile addition. An easy solution would be to upload the excel file to a free file hosting site such as http://www.mediafire.com/, then upload the file and post the link to this file in the post.

Or save as jpeg as in Jimbos post.

Thanks guys, I'll try Jimbo's method (I'll split it into 2 when I get this weeks results), a fixtures/results and a league table.
As many of you are aware, I'm the guy who requires the idiots guide to the Idiots guide to computers, so I'd appreciate it if one or two of you could keep an eye on this thread and watch out for my "Help post" which will no doubt come a bit later

The attached sheet (if it works) is my record and should not be taken as official. Any fixtures/results etc; should be confirmed with the official fixture list.

Thanks for your work on this Statto. If anyone requires the 'official' results and leaderboard (Statto gets his results from the 'official' sheet anyway!), I will gladly include them on my weekly mailing list. Just let me know your e:mail address and I'll do the rest. e:mail it to me at udonpool@hotmail.com

No such luck guys the sarnies have all had to be thrown out. What's a phone call 30 mins before u are due to arrive? It doesn't take much, at least previous stand ups have had the decency to ring before they let you down. Looking forward to some responses on this one!

Has any other bars been stood up by 652?

Has any other bars been stood up without even a phone call to apologise?

It's now 2 days on and still no call.

Like Kev says - My number's in the guide-book and on Udon map.

Galee - have you heard anything?

Glyn,
As far as I can see their Home match against Aussie Bar was a 0 - 10 Walkover, but I'm not sure if they let them travel to 652 before telling them the match was off or told them earlier, They have also had TWO "No results" (away to Kineree and home to Kangaroo Bar).

A Beer too far had 6 players ready and waiting on Tuesday at 7pm ...... and waiting ........and waiting, and finally got informed just after 8pm that the Kineree could not field a team, It's not as if the Kineree didn't have a contact phone number, they have both Jan & Andy's number, but couldn't be asked to let anyone know BEFORE 7pm

Ok here it goes. I'm a member of 652's team, but I'm not acting as the teams spoke person. I'm just posting to try to clarify what happen. Game day most team players felt that the Retreat was to far out to get to and it was decided to forfeit. Someone on the team was suppose to make the call to forfeit, but there was some disconnect somewhere and unfortunately it didn't happen.

For the record, we lost to Kineree, Kangaroo bar lost to us, and we forfeit to another team (forget which), but they were notified.

I would have thought this would have been something to be sorted out by the rules of the league.
Who informs whom if they are incapable of showing (& who is 'who' if 'who one' (either party) is not available). Plus what 'sanctions' occur if a team 'no show', including if 'no tell, no show'.
I have played in ever sort of 'pub sport' imaginable to mankind in the UK, eventually I gave each one up & usually because I just no longer wanted the commitment of turning up every "Tuesday" (or any other day of the week) for a bit of fun only often to be encountered by a team who would go to extremes & happy to win at any costs.
Hence, sorry, no desire to get involved with similar here... :(
It should (in my opinion) be for fun - any problems sorted out by the rules, automatically & calmly....

652 you make me laugh.

No.1 you're also out of town (ie. not in walking distance of the centre) so you of all teams should make an effort to appear. Ok so ER is a 100-120bt ride away from the centre, but you're probably 50-60bt ride, so for 50bt with 3 people on board and we're not worth the effort. Nobody asked you to join the pool league, you volunteered. I wonder if you'll say no to the 8-10 customers I bring to your bar when we play you at home (ASK ANYONE i COME WITH SPECTATORS EVERY WEEK NOT JUST A TEAM) If between 3-4 persons you find it hard to cough up the extra 50bt on a sam-laaw that is pretty dire!

N0.2 A phone call - it's no excuse not to phone, I hope you are barred from the league. I pass your bar regularly and it appears to me that you should be doing all you can to promote your business, today I saw Barry & Don (JJs) drinking at the bar and this was the most activity I've ever seen there.

I wish you luck.

Bob, competition is always gonna go that way, some thrive on it, some hate it. I understand where you are coming from. For the most UD pool league is kept fun, we (ER) are losing miserably this season and we are having more fun doing so, ask around, most of it is taken in good humour/banter there are the serious sides but they are far and few between, find a side and join in it really is about mixing and getting out there.
