Follow the wonky blue arrows coming from the direction of Loei....smaller road route or Red route from Udon.

Re: help with finding a place please.
Just a suggestion going by the map as I've only ever driven from Khon Kaen but from Pha Khao it seems best road appears to be west on 214 then join 201 northbound then turn right onto 210 eastbound via Erawan, Na Wong and Na Klang. Through Nong Bua Lamphu then join 2146 southbound (? route number is small) to Ubonrat.
Re: help with finding a place please.

Re: help with finding a place please.
I went there a couple of weeks ago, but we didn't walk up to the caves. They do tell the that the views are great, but it's only a half-day trip at best.r3aps wrote:also has anyone ever been to erawan caves and if so is it worth a day?
Re: help with finding a place please.
Erawan Caves definately worth a look Steve, but not that exciting. A couple of hours at most, but the Country around there is very good on the eye

Re: help with finding a place please.
The Caves are well worth a visit....very quiet on working weekdays, empty car park though some food stalls may be open, a good walk up to the cave entrance take some water and leave the highheels in the car....great view, you can go right into the dark depths, you will spot the cave opening from a distance when travelling to it, a nice lake nearby too., not a day trip few hours max then move on.
Re: help with finding a place please.
pics of erawan cave about 6 years ago. the pic overlooking valley is once in cave, buddha entrance, down inside, where light comes thru roof, make sure it's a sunny day, good photo op, then it up steps, if i remember, to exit at other side, for pics of valley below, then return same way you got there thru front buddha entrance.
