Presumably a reputable company is behind this venture,do not want any screws coming loose. 8) Since locals are anti getting a suntan, will they offer umbrellas for 5 baht since not much shade is evident while being whizzed around :-k

Even my highly spirited 6 year old thought that Ferris wheel looked a bit dodgy (too risky to try).

Pardon me for being a tad racist, if Thais built it or even operate it, I'll stay away thanks very much.

Yes - I am sure we would all be keen to avoid a repetition of this:

or this:

Some members may not agree with you @Khun Paul.

Ok! So, I am thinking major incident within 4 weeks. I'll guess 2 serious injuries involving Thais. What say you?

I hope it's a great success and I don't want to see anyone get hurt, thai or farang. price is posted and says nothing about farang fee any different. Hopefully they will add a few more attractions. I'm sure safety was a concern in the development of the ferris wheel.

I drive on the roadways everyday as I am sure other people do, So I do, along with others that put my life in the hands of Thais and other nationalities everyday

I also rely on Nurses, Doctors, everyday also if I need them
Well I guess I rely on people everyday regardless where they are from

Do you take the stairs to your hotel room on the 23rd floor of the hotel or do you put your life in the hands of the Thai's who installed the elevator (lift)? Just get over it TIT.

I think I understand Kp's point. It is not about Thai workmanship but my concern is when it was constructed was the priority a concern for safety, or to build at minimum cost, which seems to prevail here .If the latter then heavens help us . As someone pointed out, accidents can happen anywhere, but if corners are cut it doubles the likelihood. :-"
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .

I also agree BUT in everything there is a degree of Safety over $$$$ i.e. Titanic, BP in the Gulf, Chernoble(spelling apologies)
If you Want/Need safety you might as well stay home and pray
There is no such activity, moment where all is SAFE

looked to me like they took over a week to assemble the wheel.. The fellows I saw doing it seemed to have the proper tools... Of course, I didn't see anyone wearing hard hats.. This Ferris Wheel is a far cry from one I rode on back in December 1973 at Tung Sri Nuang.. I remember rocking in the car and noting that it was secured in the frame with bent nails!!! bwahahahah!! But back then, being young and dumb, I found it funny where today I'd be petrified..
