Never heard of it , neither had I until today. There is a completely new road over the hills to Nong Bua Lamphu from our village Nong Wai. It starts from turning right at the local market and at first it's a typical local road , potholes everywhere, but you soon come to the obvious new road, see pics.
Walk into the park and you will see a man made pathway to the top, about 200mtrs.
Not a big bike man but it looks a great ride out to me .
I don't think the word has got around yet, only saw one vehicle and two cyclists on the entire length. When the new road finishes you travel on an existing road, not much further on you will see a big gold Buddha on your right, staight opposite there is a smallish road , take that, at the top there is lots of parking'Poopan Noi

One word of caution, there is no lighting and a big drop awaits the careless at the side of the road, not recommended in the dark .

Well done trubrit.
Looks a nice quiet drive.
Is it a bring your own for food etc or have the locals got their food stands set up.

Looks like can have a nice day out & look at the scenery then stop at Tom & Jees place on the way back for a nice lunch or mid day meal.
Can you show a map reference on google maps for the turn off so it is easy to find.

No didn't see any food stalls but camping is allowed, all the tents looked the same so would guess rented up there .

Yes I confirm. Its a very beautiful place that you can enjoy the view and nice walks. Has an obvious path for walk but also another one that goes all around the mountain. A local ttod me about that,I never tried it. To the tents you mentioned many times are going and staying there kids from schools. Also at the parking area there is a sky observatory that looks interesting ,but I don't have more information about it.
You can go there from the 210 road driving from udon to nong bua lambu ,after you pass my place you continue for 10 minutes ,there the road has some turns so you can't go fast, you will see a big road sign says phu pan noy turn left. After 5 minutes drive you there.
