nice view from that large ridgeline overlooking the dam lake.. Worth a day trip down to the dam park, have lunch at their restaurant and then up to the overlook... So, does anybody know if it is now open?????

This place is now open. Although the visibility at the moment isn't great, but slowly improving.
The setup is a bit like at Chiang Khan, where you park up and get tickets about a Km down the road, Nong Sang side.

Had a run out to the dam yesterday, closed for repairs, dont know if thats a good or bad thing on such a new construction?Anyway thought I would get some info, the car park is just over a kilo past it. you park there and get somtell to it.Entrance fee Thai 60bht, farang 100bht each.inc parking, somtell and entrance fee.I pushed the issue of farang with Thai ID card., told same Thai. Now over 50's free, couldn't get answer if that included farangs, so try your luck if you go.
It is not disabled friendly, with high steps and no wheelchair access, Told mid=week quiet but weekends up to 500 visitors. hoefully not at the same time, it doesn't look that strong .
