Minor Earthquake shakes Loei province

Post by arjay » October 20, 2019, 5:47 pm

Just spotted this, which may be of interest:
A 3.9 magnitude earthquake has shaken Loei province in north-east Thailand, near the Laos border, although there are no reports of any damage. But residents were certainly talking about it yesterday as it shook the region.

The quake was felt at around 12.30pm yesterday, in the main business district of Loei and several of the surrounding sub-districts near the border.

I live south of Loei city and didn't feel anything, nor did I feel the latest one centered near Nan.

My wife and I both felt the 6.4 quake which struck just before 7 this morning. Lots of swaying hanging lights etc. We live in Nong Samrong and knew immediately it was an earthquake from prior living in Italy and California.

I didn't feel it and neither did my wife. The strange thing is that my sister is here on a visit and they stayed in Bangkok last night. She said the curtains and lights were swaying in their hotel room.
