Immigration loon in Nong Khai

Post by fatbob » September 25, 2011, 7:35 pm

I have been there a few times but not for twelve months, my young son a good looking fellah just like his old man always ended up behind the counter playing with all the officers with everyone smiling, the wife did all the paperwork and talking, I just sat on my arse as the wife told me not to speak, every time in and out in 20 minutes.

Three words, and a sillyface, and you're calling names?

I could think of a few, too, but have more class than to toss them. Grow a skin.

And another thing to all those soppy falangs that sit there with a soppy grin on their face, holding hands with their WFB and then go on to give an over zealous "sawadee khrap" and a stupid wai to the officer when its there turn - don't do it. Instead go there straight there from an all night bender. OT is an example that this method works and you don't mind if the officers are in a bad mood or treating you badly. In fact you don't know much at all.

OT....... \:D/

After that go to one of the som tum / fish stalls in NK, order some spicy food and leos, call your mates over and check your passport to see if all's well.

threelegcowboy wrote:"Let me guess at the reason for your problem" was my opening statement. I am not taking up for these people.

I have had dealings with this lady immigration officer and the famous AEK Udon commander in chief of immigration. But the more I learn about Thai Immigration the more I realize I dont know. There are holes in the procedure AND CAN BE LEFT UP TO THE DESCRETION OF THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER.

I did google and tried to find an answer but only came up with a hundred versions. What works for me is to report my new address when I move ASAP. And we are talking about in relation to a visa. From this point on it is every 90 days to report. If you leave the country and return (you have to give the address on entry forms) then the 90 days start from that reentry.

I do think that SOME of the blame on bad behavier is due to language/communication problems. SHE JUST DOESNT WANT TO HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU IN ENGLISH.

I did get a few things completely wrong on first post. 1 it was BKK not Phuket. 2. Amount of fine can be much more.

You are correct that the landloard will report address. You only need to report when that 90 days rolls around.
