Good news indeed, Dero. =D> =D> =D>

Back to the O-A visa route for me.

Hopefully Mr Kooperman will be as obliging as Brig. Jamieson was in the past. :D

Jackspratt, how could he get a visa, it's only for aussie's ain't it. Thought JS was of an Irish Catholic background, but born in Manchester UK.

Just hoping they don't keep the O-A visa applications restricted to Canberra. They stopped the Brisbane Consulate from issuing them at the same time Perth closed. Will be very hard to imagine an office run as friendly as Mr Jamieson (Junior) and his secretary (sorry forgotten her name).

For years,( based on his knowledgable posts and interest on all things relative to that Country :D ), myself and a couple of friends, had always genuinely assumed he was American!! ;) It was only recently we were told , in the course of a conversaton regarding the Forum, that he is an Australian :( , , although whether by birth or 'decree' was not revealed [-( :-"

'Yvonne" , a fantastic lady. I totally agree that if the new Consulate staff proves to be even half as friendly, helpful and efficient as Yvonne, (and her "assistant" Mr. Jamieson \:D/ :D ), I will be more than happy.

OK for you wazza but those of us who live in the wild west probably wouldn't be accepted in Brisbane now. I was told Brissy was good though :-k

A subsequent email from the consulate advised they cannot issue O-A visas - can only be done through the Embassy. :(

According to their website Perth consulate opened April 15.Now at Vent nor st. West Perth.

Only last week Mr. Kooperman advised me by email that they do issue O-A visas so I don't know if that has changed since last week or not.

My advice from the Consul was from the end of April. :-k

I just spoke to Mr Kooperman by phone.

He confirmed his earlier advice (to me) that he cannot issue O-A visas in Perth - they can only be done in Canberra.

It's all a bit confusing.

Not confusing at all Mr Spratt, you might say I was able to clarify the situation simply by re reading the email from Mr Kooperman but this time using my new glasses and without the assistance of the 5 individual browns i had consumed when I read his email the first time.

Obviously my mistake as he clearly states that he can issue O visas and no mention of OA visas.
Apologies for inconvenience caused.
Cheers.
