Well went yesterday, a pretty painless experience all over and done with in 15 minutes. Security at all points was pretty strict, more like the airport, so don't take any big bags with you, other than that every one was not only pleasant but unlike the old embassy experience, pretty clued up and polite.Waiting for an email to pick it up when ready, not more than four weeks , they said .Now the definitive answer on that. Anyone can collect on your behalf, just need a letter of permission signed by you, the receipt they gave you on application and , he's the biggie, your old passport. Which of course means if you engage the services of an agent of any sort , you have to leave your current passport with them, in the meantime meaning you obviously don't have it .Which I am not prepared to do and wouldn't advise anyone else to either .So it's back to Bangkok again soon , maybe I will just let the wife go alone this time if I can persuade her to stay out of the malls .
Ageing is a privilige denied to many .
