UK passport renewal times update
UK passport renewal times update
Picked up on a thread on ThaiVisa that UK passport renewals are "averaging about 10 weeks" at the moment.
This may be of importance to those with passports with extensions in them expiring in Q1/2 of this year and to get the renewal ball rolling early.

Re: UK passport renewal times update
I am traveling to Chiang Mai on Wednesday to submit my renewal application, have allowed more than the 11 weeks on the Gov.Uk website. If it is down to 10 weeks, even better.

Re: UK passport renewal times update
I used an agent and mine took 3 months end of last year.
Re: UK passport renewal times update
Yes, in the ThaiVisa article, the agents were stating the same turnaround as the DIY applicants.

Did mine in Krung Thep Maha Nakhon last spring when it was still Bangkok took 5 weeks from dropping off to e mail saying it was ready to collect. Can anyone actually think of a valid reason why it should take twice as long now, bearing in mind the reduction in people who want/need to travel (especially first time travellers) during the worldwide covid restrictions

Re: UK passport renewal times update
A large number of public servants working from home could be one reason for the delay!
It took 35 days mid last year using KeyVisa Pattaya. (Me helping a friend renew his).

I submitted my renewal application today in VFS Chiang Mai. The office is next door to the MAYA shopping centre, and has plenty of free parking. The security guard confirmed my appointment time, and let us in to the office, I was seen 15 minutes early, they completed my submission in 2o minutes. They are very particular about the dimensions of the passport photo, luckily I had some different sizes with me, they really liked seeing letter evidence from my MOD pension provider showing my Thai address written in English. Turnaround time currently 11 weeks. Very, very efficient service all-round.

Good alternative to a trek to Bangkok and different scenery.stereolab wrote: ↑February 23, 2022, 10:28 pmI submitted my renewal application today in VFS Chiang Mai. Cheers Doodoo. I did a quick check directly on the Nok Air website for early next month and nothing was listed.
