New hoops for thoes extending retirement based on 65K.
Just returned from Udon Immigration with a new 12 Month Retirement Extension.
Did the normal (or as it was last year) formalities - Bank, (Statement, Letter & Bankbook) - 24 pages of Wise Receipts showing the transfers - Map - Photo Copies of house book, TW's ID, all Passport pages etc etc.
The place was heaving, people spilt over into the outside cover where I was seated at 09:00 after going to the bank.
I was there for about 15 minutes and asked to come inside to the information counter where an officer asked me to produce my INCOME statements from Australia specificity asking for OFFICIAL Pension/Employer records. I have neither being self funded along with superannuation.
To cut a long story short I showed her my Australia bank accounts off my phone and an example of a Stock Market divided I have recently received. We jerked around for a while until she used Line to transfer the *.pdf from my phone to their printer. (I had never used Line). She took this to her boss and we sat there for about 45 minutes awaiting a decision.
My guess is they never concidered self funded retirees into the equasion when drafting the new hoop and the supervisor spent quite some time on the phone to Bangkok.
All was approved and we were escorted straight to an empty "booth" bypassing the queue, processed and out by 10:45.
My concern is the lack of security within the Immigration Office, they are now asking for documents that have sensitive, personal details on then. On this occasion I let them see my Australian bank statements off my phone but there is no way I'm going to print them for em.

which is, "at the discretion of the immigration officer.." Seems adding things to the mix is something we can expect depending upon which officer is making the decisions. Here's their website with requirements. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?p=14714 #22 in case of retirement..

I have to produce hundreds and hundreds of pages of bank statements from three banks for a court case next. I used the redact feature in Adobe Acrobat to redact all details not relevant as well as half of the account numbers (with the thinking the statements are still linked to me by the unique number albeit only half). I don't want the court to have these kind of documents lying about without some security. In fact, I redacted portions of other sensitive details in hundreds of other documents as well.Bandung_Dero wrote: ↑December 21, 2023, 3:37 pmMy concern is the lack of security within the Immigration Office, they are now asking for documents that have sensitive, personal details on then. As an example: I have been given copies of checklists from Immigration in the past with recycled copies of someone else's passport on the back in the past so your security concerns are certainly well founded.
Proper full on Adobe Acrobat does cost money but you can rent it monthly if you like.

After looking at link for both marriage extension and retirement extension, I can see why some individuals use an "Agent" to get extension.FrazeeDK wrote: ↑December 21, 2023, 6:21 pmwhich is, "at the discretion of the immigration officer.." I have bought-and-paid-for old version of Adobe on a retired laptop but balked at the price for a new licence for the latest version for the new laptop. You can do a 'rental' but it can still be expensive for a one-off action.Potamoi wrote: ↑December 21, 2023, 6:31 pmI have to produce hundreds and hundreds of pages of bank statements from three banks for a court case next. I have been using ilovepdf.com for a year now and their stable of online tools is very good.

I have managed to do most things without the need to subscribe, but if I need to, at $4/month, it's a good deal. A paid subscription allows you to redact stuff as well.

Re: New hoops for thoes extending retirement based on 65K.
I don't find submitting all the paperwork and doing a dancing bear act to get my marriage extension completed. Submitted it in Mid-November and it was back on Tuesday the 19th of Dec. Now, watching how they shuffle and stack the papers, merely having a list of what is needed is not necessarily how they want it. For instance, they want 2 copies of the wife's housebook and two copies of her ID Card. Then they recopied them so the ID card was copied onto the bottom of the housebook copy. It seems to me that aside from those documents "required" the Immo folks could actually put out a list on precisely how they want the copies submitted/stacked as in #1 is..... #2 is.... etc. Seems like it might save them quite a bit of time as right now, the Immo officer doing info/reception gives them a glance, then to an intern that goes over them closely, stacking, recopying, editing the copies etc. Then to the desk officer who goes through the entire stack again finding any errors, anything out of order and calling the intern over to put it right..

But congratulations on another extension.

Just bumping this up and asking a question
are you lot saying a man on a Non O now needs health insurance for a renewal of visa, whereas several months back I didnt need it

Re: New hoops for thoes extending retirement based on 65K.
Nobody's mentioned health insurance. AFAIK it's not required for the new extension of a Non-O.

Re: New hoops for thoes extending retirement based on 65K.
It clearly says (on the left under 6) that health insurance is only required for Non O-A visa. Non-O retirement does not need that.
Re: New hoops for thoes extending retirement based on 65K.
thanks guys for clearing that up..thought I was going to have to jump thru more hoops
