Obviously my mistake as he clearly states that he can issue O visas and no mention of OA visas.
Apologies for inconvenience caused.
Cheers.
Those bl00dy individual browns. :D

Some of you guys have probably read the changes to UK citizens for the issue of Multi Entry Non Immigrant O visas in the UK in the topic "Hull Consulate new rules?"
Now on Thai Visa an Australian gentlemen has stated he has phoned the Australian consulates in both Perth and Brisbane and they, too, have stated they need proof of income for the issue of Multi Entry Non O visas, the same as the UK.
Dont know if this will apply to O-A visas ? Might be worth checking ?
Just a heads up.....the topic on TV is "Just received this from Hull....another door slams shut"......the Aussie gentlemans comments are on page 6.

Zid only the embassy in Canberra can issue O-A visas, and evidence of funds has always been a requirement, even in the good old days when consulates could issue them. :D

From memory, when I previously obtained O-As from Perth, there was no amount mentioned - just "sufficient" funds. I think I showed a bank statement with the A$ equivalent of around 800k.

Having done it for the first time in June, I am now firmly convinced the embassy letter from Bangkok, showing income, is the easiest way to get an extension.
