90 Day Notification by mail?

Forget the report LA!Take a trip to the Baileys store across the bridge 1500 baht and report 90 days from that date!

My 90 day notification is due on June 6. However on May 12, I renewed my one-year extension. Is my next 90 day notification on August 10, or to be safe, should I report on June 6?

Your 90 day reporting date has nothing to do with the date you extend your visa. They are completely independent. Report within one week of the date they last told you to report.

jingjai, you have to report on 6th june as this is your 90 days, when you extended or left and re entered has nothing to do with it. if in doubt play it safe.

I think you are wrong about the reentry part!If you leave the country,you report 90 days from the day you enter!Leaving the country starts the 90 day reporting all over again!

I received my new extension on 5th March this year, left Thailand soon after and returned 20th May. My 90 day report was due on 6th June. I was not sure what to do so I went to Nong Khai yesterday. In and out in 3 mins after being served by Happy Jack. He made no comment on me being there early so I assume the reporting date is just that and nothing changes it.

It was a nice day for a drive anyway.

Stan I could be wrong but it my understanding if you do not have a reentry stamp you have to file all over again so that why they sell you multiple entry visa for about 5000 baht check the price don't take my post as correct

Up to date info from , of all places Nong Khai immi: If you leave the country and re-enter, your 90 days starts from date of re-entry.Your entry is taken as notification.
If you renew your non imm visa you start a new 90 day period from that date that renewal is granted.They are now using a new form in your passport to indicate this, not as before, the 90 days from your last report. In other words your renewal is seen as notification.This has only been slipped in from the !st June.

Trubrit your 1st para is the status quo.

2nd para seems to be new (and welcome) news. It will be good to get further confirmation of this from other visitors to the Dark Region (aka NK Immigration).

I suspect our favourite wombat has made an unnecessary (albeit enjoyable) journey to NK. One can only hope he found a good supply of roots and leaves whilst there

I hope the second part holds true!This is where I originally messed up on my reporting.I renewed in BK ,but forgot to do the 90 day notification while there!
I didn't get fined when I tried to report,just told to report 90 days after returning to the country the next time I left.

So my only additional cost was a reentry permit and the Lao $35 fee!

I will report tomorrow for my 90 day notification!

I applied for the o visa in Loas and got it. Then before the 3 months were up I went to canada ,without exit visa,and by the time I got back,my 3 month "O" visa had expired. Took a chance and went to nong kai as I did not want to "start over " .Wham bam and stamped ,one year visa. Sometimes do not have to start over eh !!

I assume you left Thailand without getting a re-entry visa.

When you got back to Thailand I also assume you received a 30 day permitted to stay stamp.

When you went to NK, what sort of visa did you receive to enable you to receive a 12 month stamp? If you converted the 30 day stamp to a Non-O (retirement or marriage), I understand this is quite permissible - but I am not 100% sure, as I haven't had to go down this visa path.

When I renewed (non imm oa) in Jan. almost 2 weeks early the renewal stamp is dated 31 JAN but the 90 day was calculated from the day I was there.

does anyone know if NK will accept mail ins, heard they will not. if so, when was the last time someone did successfully, hopefully within the last 30 days.

The new 90 day form put in passport when making annual renewal. 2nd para reads. "Case of application for extension of temporary stay in the kingdom by TM7 you have notified your place of residence at the first time."Its then dated 90 days from there.

after this thread started, i mail one into NK, great, as not worth the drive anymore, even if Ree makes a baileys run. now over 300 baht for fuel, and savings on bailey isn't worth the hassle for her to go over, plus as all things female, takes forever, shopping, then i'm 'stuck' sucking down beers and watching the mekong go by.

but i renewed in feb, then heard the above, no more mail ins. made the mistake of not changing my alarm in computer calender to new 90 day check in, so was late by nk standards, then mailed to bkk, even later, returned post card informing me of pending fine, stop in any imm. office. oh joy. well, worked that out, will only answer in pm.

so bkk or korat is the option for mail ins, though i do enjoy my short visit to nong khai, occasionally. tho needing to get there earlier than last time, rudy's bakery sells out quick, missed my sugar fix and had to settle for nice burger/fries from danish bakery.

those that do mail in, do early enough to receive reciept, that if not received, allow enough time within that 7 day grace, is still using, to make a real 90 day check in, as the minimum fine is turning self in, is 2000 baht, if not self turn in, starts at 4000 and up. or don't be a cheap arse like me, and do a day in nong khai.
