One thing my friend did tell me was that his Medical Insurance Policy (Worldwide) is not from one of the 13 No Insurance Companies, that are listed in the Link, as "participating in the Scheme under the Thai Government Long Stay Visa programme". So I don't know how relevant it will be or how important that might be for his Application.
Or if you can outside of the list of the participating 13 No Insurance Companies and choose you own different Insurer.
