Ill treatment at Udon Immigration

Ok did my annual today no ill treatment. But, they are difentely promoting copies. I buried them in paperwork two copies of everything which they kept. But, they came up with one form that is not outside, so we donlt have access to it. So it required a copy. Seh asked me to pay for the copy I said OK how much. I got " up to you" [-X so I pulled out one baht and gave it to her. The same price I would pay anywhere else

There was one farrang in there saying they had marked his passport wrong, he was talking on the phone right next to me a Tourist Police volunteer was sitting, off he went on a tirade about the Police. He was in there before I was, then he went off about how they didn't give him a que card. There was a sign sitting on the table that clearly stated get a que card

All I have to say is I'm glad I went before he did, as they were in a good mood when I did my business. :-"

I was at Udon Immigration last week for my 90 days reporting, first desk left hand side, male officer.
We were interrupted by a Thai woman with farang man/husband, lacking respect as usual for people engaged in a conversation. Anyway, lady asked how to obtain residence certificate for drivers license.
Reply from male officer: 2x 500 baht, one for car, second for motorcycle.
"Normally" this is a free service, NOT in Udon???

Were you asked to fill out the critique sheet at the desk while the immigration officer watched? :(

They really don't get it.

Ill treatment at Udon Immigration

Post by writemotive » September 4, 2012, 10:43 am

Applied for a tourist visa (airport) extension (my stay was 32 days) at Udon immigration office. Service was polite and wait reasonable, but the charge for a seven day extension was Baht 2,000 (including 100 Baht for photos). Is this the usual charge for this type of extension? The 2, thousand Baht bills I handed the immigration officer were so quickly put in her desk drawer that it aroused my suspicion that I may have paid an added tea pad. However, I said nothing, did not demand a receipt (none was offered), and left with a "thank you" and a smile.

Any 'visa extension' is 1,900 baht whether it is for 1 day, or 30 days.
100 for photos is rather a rip off though...

Thanks BobHelm!
I am very happy to learn I was treated as per the law (cost of visa). The service was friendly and wait reasonable. The photos were my fault as I forgot the ones I had in my suitcase at home (some distance from town), so for the convenience I can't complain. Thanks again:)
