Kids Education

Post by rickus » July 6, 2007, 3:19 pm

I have just finished a 14 month relationship with Thai lady, usual reasons, mainly lies and deceipt, however over that 14 months, I have watched her son grow, he first walked to me. Baby to toddler, he is a very bright intelligent kid. I would like to set up a trust account or such, for his future education, where the money is used for that sole purpose. The ex and her parents would use the money for there own welfare and gain if they have access. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

You are probably not going to maintain a relationship with him.Since he is still an infant, you, with a little time, will fade from his life!If there is no stress to get a good early education,he might not even reach the stage where he wants to pursue a higher education!Any attempts on your part to stay connected will more the likely be taken advantage of by the family!
If it was me(of course I am emotionally detached),I would make a clean break and get on with my life! With some time passing,if I still felt that fatherly connection,I would set up a revocable trust savings account that I or a trustor could determine whether to contribute to his higher education when the time comes!

Bottomline, give yourself some time to work out the emotions involved in a breakup of your ''family''!Best of luck!!!!Remember this, you are not responsible for his life anymore than you are responsible for all the ''kids'' that could use a helping hand!
