Non Immigrant O Multi entry

Post by Zidane » November 7, 2007, 1:35 pm

Guys,
Just a quick question about my Non-Immigrant O Multi-entry visa valid for 1 year.
I had the same three years ago and did the 90 day visa run to Nong Khai,totalling 4 trips for the year.
I planned the same this time round (ie Nong Khai every 90 days) but a friend of mine from the UK is coming over and wants to go to Vientiane for a few days,midway through my 90 day spell.
Am I limited to just 4 exit/entries on my visa within the 1 year or can I have more ??
Hope this message makes sense ??
I'm sure an expert on these issues like Paul will have a quick answer for me....maybe even one word !!
Thanks.

Zidane

Zidane, you can come and go as you please and each time you re-enter Thailand you will get another 90 days.

I am not clear on the type of visa you have, but does the visa specify a certain number of entries?

Its a non immigrant multi entry o visa valid for 12 months..
The stamp on my passport says good for multiple journeys to Thailand.....no mention of how many.
I would have thought that I'm free to come and go as I please within the twelve months.....unless someone out there knows different ??

You can come and go as you please. I have the same visa and go to Singapore and/or HK for business about once a month, No I don't have a business visa, just a normal 'O' for being married. Every time you re-enter Thailand you get another 90 days.
Make sure you do a border run or leave and come back a few days before the visa runs out and you get another 90 days, so in effect you can have 15 months on the same visa.

Thanks Kudjap or Bust,
Three years ago I had the same visa which I used only ever 90 days but managed to get nearly 15 months,so I'll aim to get the same this time round.

You will get stamped out from thailand at the bridge. You will buy a visa on arrival for Laos at their end of the bridge (1,500 baht most days). When you exit Laos they will cancel that visa. On arrival at the Thai end (& completing the arrivals ticket with your Non o multiple entry visa number) the Thai side will give you another 90 day visa starting from that day.
It might mean that (if you are staying here long term) that you need to go to Laos part way though a 90 day visa for your LAST visa in order to maximise your legal stay in Thailand...

If you have a multiple entry,it speaks for itself in that you have reentry rights already!You will still have to pay $35 to get a lao visa!

Re-entry Permit

If you have an extension of stay and would like to travel outside of Thailand for a short period then an re-entry permit will be needed.

An re-entry permit can be obtained at the following places.

* Any other immigration checkpoint

When applying for a re-entry permit you will need to submit the following -

Current fees for re-entry permit

* 1,000 Bahts for single
* 3,800 Bahts for multiple
