Google Chrome v Yahoo Mail

Post by patriot » December 8, 2013, 6:03 am

Good morning good people in Udon.
Is anyone experiencing problems with Yahoo Mail.
As a Google Chrome user, on opening "Yaho Mail"I cannot seem to get past an interim page suggesting I upgrade Int.Explorer or Firefox browsers .. neither of which I use.
Thanks!!

Sorry my combination is Firefox & Yahoo mail & no issue with that.
I do seem to recall that Yahoo updated Mail a short time ago though.
I believe that there are ;simple' & 'more complex' versions of it available. I know that I have to always plump for the simple version on upgrade otherwise the program just 'hangs' for me.

So my only suggestion is that maybe you should try & re-install the whole Yahoo 'experience' maybe through Messenger..

I just Googled
Yahoo Mail Problems
& restricted it to the last week...
There are pages of issues. Both people complaining about issues since the revamp & news about 6 million of its' usernames & passwords being stolen.

Looks like you are far from being the only 1 with problems, but I could see little in the way of suggested solutions..

Hi Steve; I occasionally have difficulty with portals as my episode with the bog door in Karon a few years ago would bear testament!!
Since posting the "continue without upgrading" link at the bottom of the page is now behaving itself. I think Yahoo's ambitions. like CTH, exceed their capabilities.
BTW, mate, are you back in Udon???

Thanks for the reply Bob. As above, since my OP the "continue without upgrading" is doing as it's told!! STill a pain though, I'm about as synonymous with I.T. as Pie n Mash is to Haute Cuisine!!!!!

Make sure that Chrome is specified as your default browser. I also went into control panel and Windows components to remove MS Explorer. It doesn't delete the program but it does disable it.

It would seem that the problems were completely of Yahoo's own making..
Yahoo forced to acknowledge Yahoo Mail problems in worst failure yet
http://www.zdnet.com/yahoo-forced-to-ac ... &ttag=e539
Despite promising to restore Yahoo Mail service to its customers by 5pm EST, an unknown number of users are still unable to log in, and remain without email service.

An unknown number of users have been affected by Yahoo's as-yet-unnamed problem, spanning at least two and a half weeks - a problem that was not openly acknowledged by Yahoo until yesterday.

Hey, now we're getting somewhere; thanks for that Bob.
I've been testing deliveries with my Hotmail account and sometimes takes 2 days to reach my Yahoo! address. Thai postal service is quicker.
I have however upgraded the Internet Explorer as they, Yahoo, suggested and it works very well. For all other browsing I switch back to Chrome.
