Outlook/Hotmail help

Post by socksy » July 26, 2014, 8:19 am

Being a technical dinosaur I need advice. You may ask why, and I can't answer, but I have an outlook inbox, and as well as that I had a POP folder with some important stuff in there. I've somehow managed to delete this. Is there a way I can retrieve it?

Outlook/Hotmail help

Not really that au fait with Outlook but you could try this...
How to recover deleted emails in Outlook – not using Exchange
If you are NOT using Exchange with Outlook, you can still recover deleted Outlook emails! As long as you didn’t compact / optimize your Outlook data files (PST files) after you deleted the emails, you have the following two recovery options:

Recover deleted Outlook emails using a data recovery tool
A generic data recovery tool lets you recover deleted Outlook emails by scanning for older, deleted versions of your Outlook data files (versions dated before you erased the Outlook emails). Here is a tool that can do this trick for you: http://www.total-data-recovery.com/Windows/

Recover deleted Outlook emails using a HEX tool
If you are experienced enough, you can recover deleted emails in Outlook without paying for a data recovery tool. Here is a nice tutorial explaining how to do it:

Outlook/Hotmail help

Post by maaka » July 26, 2014, 1:24 pm

should be easy
I have Outlook / Hotmail...open your email account..look on lefthand side and you will see a list that includes the word ' deleted '..click deleted and you should see all the messages you have deleted, including the one you want...you can either put a tick in its little box, or open the message to read, now when its open, or ticked, look along the top of your email account box and you will see the word ' move to ' click that and select where you want to send the message you want to save...if you send it back to your inbox, go back and have a look for it...it wont be at the top of your inbox list, it will slot into the relevant date it was sent firstly into your inbox...so look up and down your inbox messages, but it should be there, as I tested before I wrote this..good luck
