my computer

Post by donthani » February 22, 2008, 10:49 am

Had a bit of a problem with my computer recently ,after talking to a few Thai comp shops and getting no solution, a friend told me about an American guy (John ) that works on computers in Udon so phoned him explained the problem and went to his home ,he fixed it while I waited ( 500 baht ) really nice and easy to explain your computer problems to someone who speaks English

Hi DonThani,

Tried calling John the computer guy, but my Mobi says number you gave is incorrect.
Would you be good enough to check and advise.
Thanks,
Doc

Bit off topic and I have not looked at the forum rules but I would have thought it to be out of order to pubically disclose a guys telephone number without his permission :?

Indeed. That sort of personal information is best given by PM and not on an Open Forum.

Mr. Donthani, now that the two Einsteins had their say, I'm wondering, is it possible you could somehow get me Johns correct number?
Thanks,
Doc

It's recognised practice and sound advice not to post personal telephone numbers or indeed email addresses on open Forums, - simply to avoid people getting junk or pestering phone calls.

It's entirely your choice if you wish to do so. No need for sarcasm.

Mr. Donthani, now that the two Einsteins had their say,
= sarcasm.

= sarcasm.

I appreciate your motives were honourable. My intention was simply to highlight to members that it may not be a good idea to post personal tel no's in open Forum, not to have a dig at anyone. ;)

Dear Donthani,

Your PM to me with John's mail address has somehow mysteriously evaporated into thin air. I wonder how that could have happened?
I should think you need not to say sorry to whomever, for being a spot on decent sort of guy.
Could say more, but won't...at this time.
Thanks anyway for your efforts,
R/Doc

A good idea if you are going to put a persons details on an open forum is also type in something along the lines of 'Consent given for public viewing'. That way you would not have any problem such as this. People type enough ---- on here, so a few extra words is not difficult. Arjay & B.Dero are correct.
