Transformer for hard drive recorder.

Hello all. I have a Pioneer hard drive recorder which I brought over from the US. Can anyone tell me where I can get a stepdown transformer so that I can use the recorder with 220 volt current. I live in Sakon Nakhon but travel to Udon on occasion. Thanks in advance for any help.

The first place I would try for something like that is the electrical shop at the far end of the ground floor under Big C ...... Amorn is it??

You'll find them towards the back of the store, east wall, bottom shelf just below computer stuff.

If not in stock, I've also seen them at HomePro, but pricier than Amorn. Electronics section in glass cabinet.

Check the specs for the input voltage on your recorder. You may not need a transformer. A lot of small devices, especially if they use an inline power "brick", now have voltage agile power supplies and can take a range from 100 to 240 volts.

Thanks all for your replies. I've checked the specs, AC120V, 60 Hz, 48 watts so I know a stepdown transformer is in order. I had a stepdown transformer but forgot to pack it when I left the US to come to Thailand. It's an expensive Hard Drive recorder/dvd recorder and I don't want to "fry" the thing so am looking for a good quality product. I will be in Udon on Wednesday and will look in Amorn first.... by the way, planning a round of golf at Victory Park on Thursday so hoping someone can join in.
