MS just updated latest to 10....But: I am left with no sound, music, etc.

Undoubtedly the driver for the speakers is no longer compatible with the new version of Windows.
You could try downloading the latest drivers directly from the speaker manufacturer's web site.
You can check to see if Microsoft can help with the problem by right mouse button clicking on the speaker icon in the right hand bottom corner tool bar.
Select to open sound settings &, eventually when you come to it, select troubleshoot...

I had that problem when I first upgraded to Win 10.
I went through everything, eventually solved it by going to play back devices then select sound quality. (Something like that) try each one in turn until you find one that works.
If that doesn't work, another option is buy a plugin usb sound device.

It also leaves all your computer data totally exposed to over 50 known exploits to any criminal who is half way through Hacking 101..
