Welcome back Icio. I remember you and your trip to Udon. Sounds like you had a great time.

Also your english is fine. No problem.

I would also like to say your website is very nice. If those are pictures of Italy, I sure would like to see them. Wish I could read Italian.

Sounds like you have found a nice person in Thailand. I will say I think you have the right attitiude. Talking and seeing where it will go and not getting married within your first visit is a big plus. Go for it.

Thanks BB as that is pretty awsome reading.

Icio, if you wrote that it is very good. If you did not it is still awsome.

Where are the pictures taken of?

Do you mean the pictures in this page, Brian? http://www.iciodaverona.com/poetry/photo.htm or generally the graphics in my homesite?

That ones are pictures of a medieval castle in my city, and in the web pages i used others, taken on the internet.

Generally, i can say Verona is a real beautiful place, the city of Romeo and Juliet, the city of love (they say!)

By the way, all the poetry are my creation, over many many years.

Bye bye by Icio.

I enjoyed this thread (as much as I found the nightlife forum here correctly depicted as a sewing club).

You should - IMO - add to your list of dangers:

A foreigner (except Paul ?) who does not 'smell or feel' that SEAN is not a transliteration of a Thai syllable is a danger to himself. The (good and forgiven) 'BANG SEAN' girl from Udon Thani lives in บางแสน - i.e. BANG SAEN ...

Of course gentlemen - I ring the bell for a round ...

My post is quite simple though. If you check the posts you will see that only Paul wrote Bang SAEN - all other posters (including Bangsean_girl herself) didn't realize that she had misspelled the name of the city she lives in as Bang SEAN ...

General knowledge of the map of Thailand, the Thai language and a search engine is in my view valuable tools for the husband (most of you - I guess) as well as the punter (me). In time these tools will give you a gut feeling that tells you that the name Bangsean_girl is flawed.

This misspelling tells me that this girl has probably never received money at the Western Union office in Bang Saen (the address would have been corrected) ...

As for your Night Life forum there is little sharing of information and a lot of 'insider' chat, but that is no problem for me. I have been all over Udon before and knows where to go to pick up information on the small changes that has occured since last time I was there (2003).

Well I'm glad that's sorted.

For a moment I was worried it was something "really" important.

Thanks for the clarification philo.

As for the sewing club, I really don't think it was intended to be a hardcore place to find out what is available in Udon 'after hours', like you said, most of the guys on here are qualified 'husbands' and those that are not, like yourself, already know.

But please do feel free to post in there should you find the need for some info that isn't available elsewhere, I'm sure someone may be able to help.

As this is posted under Danger Signs are we to believe that your thesis is that if a girl cannot spell the name of her town correctly she hasn't received money via Western union and the opposite if she can, its a danger sign?Strange ,, as in your quoted example the person actually lives in Udon ,easy enough to spell, or could it be, no western union in Bang Saen?

I am fairly sure that Bangsaen (Bangsean, Bangsen,Bangsaean) girl
doesn't really give a hoot about the spelling of her screen name. And if ever my Thai language skills come within 10% of her proficiency of the English language - I will feel qualified to criticise.

I think her grip of English is pretty darn good and I suspect it is disappointing for her to have someone gnaw away over what seems is just petty.

Be careful Sean - you are next ! LOL

Fortunately Thai's will not understand that notion - so Sean I am afraid that your wishful thinking is going to have to stay in your head :)

Bangsean_girl wrote:..... i am the 1st year student in the university in Bangsean my university's name Burapa University but my hometown is in udonthani :) i miss udonthani alot thats why i come to this website to read about all the news in Udonthani :) Bangsean where i study is quite good we have a nice beach , moutain call" Kao sam mok" ......
1. If this quote means that Bangsean_girl currently lives in Udon - OK for me.

2. Not having an address implies that I will not get mail. Having an address does not imply that I will get mail.

3. I haven't criticised Bangsean_girl's proficiency in the English language. On the contrary - I think that most reasonable people who read my post will say that I criticise the foreign posters for their lack of knowledge of the Romanisation of the Thai language and the transliterated names of Thai cities.

Never mind - ignore my post - or delete it. I couldn't care less...

PS Bang means 'place', Saen means 'one hundred thousand', and in the future I will learn whether Bang Saen means 'the place of one hundred thousand ...' or not
