Air conditioning totally un-required (for at least a couple of months).
Long trousers, socks, long sleeved shirt & probably a jumper/coat at night. Probably gets down to under 10 C once the sun is down.
Chang Mai way (a little higher than Udon) can get down to frost levels overnight.

It's a matter of your body acclimatising Ash, the "cold season" really only lasts for December and January and will still probably reach 25 degrees or more most days but can drop to as little as 10 degrees at night although this is rare. For us sturdy Brits 25 is break out the shorts and vests weather but after living here a while I must admit anything below 25 and I am reaching for extra clothing and heaven forbid, even socks :yikes:

Oh how we change ....its so funny seeing Poms in the UK breaking into a sweat when its only 19 degrees........ in Sydney its about 16-22 in the winter and nights can get down to as low as 6 in the city... bur rarely falls below 9 or so... Im FREEZING since i came back... but usually after July, it begins to warm up....

its the middle of winter and my electric blanket is on full tonight.... Id prefer the non electric Issan one i have to be keeping me warm though....she knows what to do ;-)

this has got to be the nicest relationship based thread ive ever read on here . started with young ash asking for advice , and five pages now , and no one has given him bad advice , no one has slagged of his girlfriend or thai ladies in general , no one has told him to cut and run . this is udon map is it not ? gotta be said guys , pat yourselves on the back , what a brilliant refreshing change . =D> =D> =D> although ash says hes not loved up , his post and the way he talkes about this girl tell me he most definately is , and good luck to you ash , its nice to see how happy and excited this girl makes you feel . just a quicky on the sin sod thing , when i got married , stupid money was talked about , in fact my wifes sister got married the year before to a thai guy , and his family paid over 100, 000 . what i did was take the father to one side , as id already worked out the mother was the merconary one , and asked him this simple question . which is more important to you , lots of money at the wedding , or your daughter being happy , and never wanting for anything for the rest of her life ? i ended up paying 50, 000 as a token gesture , for traditions sake , and the party . was given a 2 baht gold necklace as a gift from the parents on the wedding day , which at the time was worth 25, 000 . although at the cermony there was a tray with well over 300, 000 on it , borrowed i was told for the day , from whoever they could borrow from !!!! so face was saved and everyone was happy !!!!! :D :D :D

ssssssssh or my secret will be out.....i just didnt want to come across as some love struck 40 year old who is thinking with his penis.. suffice to say if she IS as genuine as she is coming across, she is mine and i am hers... forever

This is my plan.. to talk to them, and to pretty much say exactly that.....

Kloi is a little better this morning... She has told me she DOES want to go back to Bangkok and work.... so im gonna get her there this week... i sure hope her singing salary is paid into her bank account... i want this holiday visa thing ive decided on to go to plan or i will scream out loud....

im still listning everyone.... despite being a "conspircy theorist" i see none here ;-)

she looks a really cutie :D

do you really think she is working the farm i live in a village in issan and i can honestly tell you i have not seen any of the good looking girls in our village go work farm :?

and 400,000 baht asbefore stated 50,000 baht thai wedding in the village falang going rate 100,000 baht mine was that and all returned and 2 other falang weddings returned too.

the story about being hijacked and taken to samui reads like some fiction novel, i know a lot of bar girls invent themselves again i had one try to tell me in pattaya she had just started working this bar and for 3 years before she had work japanese kakaoke bangkok, well it was funny as i had seen here working love hearts bar 8 months before so when i quizzed her the look on he face was priceless. :D

and how much a day did you pay her?

and has there been any requests for you to send money?

andthe going back to work bangkok could mean she is bored in the village and missing the bar scene ;)

i go back sydney 5th september for 2 months maybe meet for a beer. nev :guiness:

just tread carefully! :-k

She really really is, i spent the whole month trying to find a cuter babe... in real life, on tv, in the magazines and i could not, from the second i saw her i thought she was the most gorgeous girl i have EVER seen... and ive seen a lot mate!
nifty wrote: do you really think she is working the farm i live in a village in issan and i can honestly tell you i have not seen any of the good looking girls in our village go work farm :?
She did it for one day, and has swiftly given it up...our visit to non sa at was the first time in three years she had been home
nifty wrote: and 400,000 baht asbefore stated 50,000 baht thai wedding in the village falang going rate 100,000 baht mine was that and all returned and 2 other falang weddings returned too.
it seems that is now all in hand, i think it was just her mum hearing stories of 1 million baht norwegians.....and hoping she had struck lucky
nifty wrote: the story about being hijacked and taken to samui reads like some fiction novel, i know a lot of bar girls invent themselves again i had one try to tell me in pattaya she had just started working this bar and for 3 years before she had work japanese kakaoke bangkok, well it was funny as i had seen here working love hearts bar 8 months before so when i quizzed her the look on he face was priceless. :D
I met the mamasan in samui, she is a psychopathic violent killer bitch from hell.. simply the most dangerous woman i have EVER met.... i met the guy she was "buying" girls for, he "ordered" 10 girls, only Kloi turned up.. and the mamasan has stolen his bar and money (i got told on sunday) I have no doubt whatsoever that she had no intention of ever sleeping with any man for money in a bar, nor has she ever...she was told nothing about sex with any man for money, and when she found out she said "no i am not doing that"

I have no doubt whatsoever that she WAS misled into going to samui.... il tell you all about it over a beer... Its a full on story of gangsters and deceipt that is right out of a novel........Samui is a VERY dangerous place....

She has been single for 3 years, and has sung in bars in Ram intra, Nawamin and Lam sali.. apparently she gets 2000 baht every 10 days from EACH of these bars to sing... they want her back to sing... and she is going at the end of the week.
nifty wrote: and how much a day did you pay her?
Not a cent.... no money changed hands the whole month we were together AND, when the moll asked kloi to get "bar fine" off of me, even though there was no open bar... Kloi actually did not know what she meant....

TO be honest in the first day or so i thought she was a working girl, even though we met at my mates hotel... and i offered her money... and she turned it down!!
nifty wrote: and has there been any requests for you to send money?
Not a peep, in fact last friday i offered her 3000 baht to get her to bangkok... and she was over the moon that i offered it...It is the first time she has taken a cent from me.... not once has she asked for money from me for anything
nifty wrote: and the going back to work bangkok could mean she is bored in the village and missing the bar scene ;)
Even going back to sing worries her because she says men "look look look" but she does not like it... but i have told her it HAS to be better than pulling rice in non sa at and any money she shows she is earning will help her get a holiday visa down under.. we actually just spoke aout it for an hour... and FINALLY she understands the importance of a job with income.

Im in thailand til the 16th.. but im up for a beer when i.. or WE get back

thanks Nev

PS, if anyone knows much about these areas in bangkok she sings in, id be grateful if you share what you know....

thanks
