starbucks in Udorn??????

I thought I saw a starbucks here in Udon Thani, but don't remeber where I saw it. Maybe I was dreaming. I don't really like the coffee there, but do like the scones and muffins based on eating some from the starbucks in Nong Khai.

Anyone know if there is a starbucks here or if one may be built soon.

Anyway no Starbucks in Udon Ed. There is one in the Oasis complex in Khon Kaen. I like the coffee but it's a bit pricey.

I don't think there is a Starbucks in Udon.
On the Tesco Lotus site (in the main building) I am sure there is a Black Canyon shop though. Have never been in it, bit expensive for my tastes.

Indeed there is a Black Canyon in Tesco/Lotus Bob. Nice coffee and food... I used to drink coffee there with a German guy and a mop when times were good and getting 48 Baht to the Euro. Now I'm getting 2 cups of tea to the bag.

It's all about taste. I like tea but I know some fahlang blokes that never touch it. I like Starbucks coffee but I've never drank dishwater.

Its not strong enough Alan, and they don't roast the beans properly. Also putting all their flavouring crap into coffee ruins it. Coffee and scotch, single malts, should be unadulterated.
By the way, try Lao coffee. It is organic and one of the best in the world if the beans are roasted correctly.

the only starbucks, is on the concept pic on UD Center promo, along w/McD. with exception of couple breakfast items, McD sucks, and starbucks is even worst, and way overpriced, cheapest i've seen in bkk is 70/105/120 for coffee. sm/med/lg, almost as expensive as the states, and the worst i've ever had....................IMHO........................just an opinion, not a debate. that dunkin donut at tesco ain't bad, and at 39 baht for real cup, made fresh, yummy. think she likes me, twice in afternoon i got the itch for a cup, and both times she brewed me pot for my cup. lovely. personal fav at moment is bon cafe, up from mojo near where taco place used to be, nobi also has nice cup of coffee.

lao coffee you can get in NK, tried only once, might give it another try one of these days, as didn't do much the 1st time. it's nice and dark, good arome, but maybe i was expecting too much, have to give a try again.

Yeah I tried it also, way too strong for my taste and ended up cutting it with some cheapo brand from Big C. I'm satisfied with the coffee blends at Bon Cafe. I usually experiment mixing the different blends to get the desired taste I want.

I like the Colombian coffee especially the coffee beans Juan Valdez picks but I understand he changed jobs he is not picking coke beans it pays better

Regarding Laos coffee. I don't know whether you can get it in Nong Khai.There are various degrees of quality and imho it coes down to the roast, not the actual quality of the beans. If any of you go to Vientiane, try the coffee in the small coffee lounge on the ground floor of the Morning Market mall. They also sell beans and ground coffee. Phimpone has a pretty decent range.

Appreciate all the info. I also, do NOT like Starbucks coffee, but I really like the scones and muffins so I should have asked where can I get good scones and muffins in Udon Thani.

Thank God for that. I prefer my coffee to taste of coffee. Thai & Laos coffee is cheap and excellent; why would anyone want that overpriced tasteless crap?
