I myself am a smoker, but i would never consider smoking in a resteraunt even before any smoking bans, i dont even smoke in my house but that is "up to me" but if someone came to my house i would offer them an ashtray if they required a cigarette.

It is always amazes me that a comment about calling the police about an alledged offence, has come down to name calling.
So those who want to call the Police be my guest, those who would speak to the owner, no problem, those who want to upset others, go away find another forum to upset others and leave us alone.
For me it cetainly proves that what I think is right, I just feel sorry for the person who has recently joined who thinks that attacking members is the way forward.

Too often we see people attack people, I am no angel in that either but to be hoinest some of the comments in any other country could give rise to other ways of dealing with the matter, so although we have all had a go as it were, doing so is somewhat self-defeatist I think.

But the crux is that I would never, never, never alert old bill about someone having a puff in a boozer, irrespective of whether it was Ban Dung Chang wind-up or not. Just the mere thought is quite abhorrent.
Can I take this opportunity to thank Bob Helm, Arjay et al for taking a backseat in this rather puerile banter while others take up the role of voluntary house carls
