Many thanks. I tried the one near the prison. But I found it average.

Not sure about the “best” noodles in town, but I’ve listed my top 5 favorites...
Coffee Pate-for Pho, Vietnamese style noodles available with pork or beef. Somboom (owner) also has an excellent pork, mushroom and rice soup, but I often substitute the rice for noodles.

Ceang Restaurant-serves up noodles with roasted duck or roasted pork (moo dang) and they have one or two other variations. Also have dim sum and I usually have my noodles with a few selections of dim sum.

Khaosoi restaurant has northern style noodles with a curry based broth. Located in Sichaithani area out by the airport.

Not far from Khaosoi is an open-air restaurant that serves only duck with noodles.
If feeling like seafood, a restaurant not to far from Wattana hospital serves noodles with squid & shrimp. Choice of spicy tom yam broth or regular.

Near the side of the jailhouse, there are probably 5 or more noodle shops....and all are different. My favorite, of 19+ years, is a small shop run by descendants of Vietnamese immigrants. They make soup the old fashioned way......start at 4AM, secret herbs and meat bones for the stock......and Vietnamese noodles that are delivered several times a week from a Vietnamese community in Tabo. They serve up grilled chili peppers and a full basket of herbs and veggies if you wish to add them to your soup. They have either beef or chicken.
As you're heading up the side road of the jail, with the jail on your right and tourist police/variety of restaurants on your left.......go to the 4 way light and turn left. The noodle shop is about 75 meters from the intersection, on your left.
