Sorry to disappoint Guys, maybe next year. Back to UK on the 26th so certainly don't want to do that trip with a hangover.... :D :D
The Good Everythings menu does sound impressive though, wonder if I can get in free of charge as the Boss often says I have a mental age of a three year old.... :D

We eat at Good Everything quite often and have never had a bad meal there.
The only thing that would put me off, slightly,is not the price but the fact that it is advertised as a 6.30pm start.
Surely by that time any self respecting farang will be in a drunken haze and plonked in front of the TV watching the Thai equivalent of The Great Escape !!!
I would think that most people will be starting their eating and drinking at lunchtime ?

Zidane,

If you book your table for an earlier time, it would not be a problem asI have been told. They just need to know on time as the cooking of the turkey is scheduled to serve straight from the oven.

Merry Christmas All!

it look to me rather expensive for a turkey dinner for one person if it was for a couple it might be in the proper price range. since I will be at castle how for Christmas I think it much better bargain
as for staying home Christmas day I am home every day and I have no family here other than my wife
so I chose to go out I do want to take this opportunity to wish all the poster a very Merry Christmas

The web-link didn't work for me. Took me to a generic page with several options and a notice at the top that "This domain is parked, pending renewal or has expired."

As for the restaurant, I've been several time and always enjoyed the food and staff (Filipino) but must agree, their prices are a bit high. OK when I'm by myself but can't afford to take the family more than once a quarter. :(

Can someone please tell me where the idea of having spinach or sweet potato in a christmas dinner came from?
I've never in all my time, seen this before I came to Thailand

And What's with the Apple Pie or Apple Crumble?

It's Xmas ....... where are the Brussel Sprouts, xmas pud and mince pies with Brandy butter?

Seems to me that what is being offered here, at greatly inflated prices, is nothing more than a Sunday Roast with a glass of wine.

Perhaps if these venue's were to use the extra money being paid, to purchase the right ingredients for a christmas dinner, it might then be considered "Value for money", but I fail to see how what is being offered, can even remotely be considered anything like VFM [-X

please............................................

candied sweet potatoes are ok, but got to have stuffing, mashed/baked potato, cranberries, apple pie will do in a pinch, but yo, pumkin pie. spinach is a little weak, though i enjoy it, asparagus/broccoli, corn, succatash, but not just spinach. that's for the salad.

Sorry Jackspratt ..... didn't mean to offend, but anyone taking the p*ss, and lets face it B850 for that menu IS TAKING THE P*SS Big time, deserves more than one wagging finger.

Christmas is supposed to be a time of goodwill to all men, not a time to rip as many as you can off.

Those of us based in Udon, and that are aware of Udon prices will know it's a rip-off.
Unfortunatly those who are only here on holiday, and are used to "Western" prices, will not, and will get fleeced unless we tell them the truth.

No probs statt.

I agree that by local standards, 700 or 850 appears high. However, for me, living out in the sticks, to be able to have a good feed and a belly full of Xmas cheer, it is good value. No driving (into Udon), no pissy driving, and helping to keep the "local" in business.

Merry Christmas to you, and everyone else on UM.

Enjoy yourselves, and stay safe. :drunk: :guitar: :drunk: :guitar:

I do occasionally eat at this restaurant and usually quite satisfied. The surroundings are very pleasant and you cannot fault the service given by the Philipinno waitress/manager. One complaint is the meals are sometimes a little on the small side(a ploy to get you order dessert and some cake.)
The best value in town appears to be THE IRISH CLOCK for which we have booked already.
OK I can't spell phillopino ,philippino, phillopino, who cares anyway #-o

i think good everything is the best in udon... however i have to agree with statt its not a christmas dinner without brussels, crissy pudding (sixpenses included) CRACKERS , Brandy Sauce, roasties, stuffing etc etc and granny asleep in the corner!!!

Or very simply put ... Any ordinary dinner served on christmas day cannot be called a christmas dinner!!! maybe these resteraunts would do well to heed that advice!!!!
