Toaster style mini oven: 1100 baht (approx.)
Loaf of OK bread: under 50 baht
REAL cheddar cheese: around 150 baht per 12 ounces.
The rest is a no-brainer.

I can honestly say: I have NEVER ordered cheese on toast at a restaurant.
It was one of the first things I learned to prepare, at the tender age of seven. :D

IMO, it's good to pull the covers off these "rip-off" farang establishments.

Well prepared Cottage Pie is one thing...it's usually worth it, considering the effort it takes to prepare it.

Cheese on toast is an embarrassment, and it also says something about the owner of the establishment, who would have the gall/nerve to charge more than 60-70 baht for this item. Unless, of course, if they are using real, imported, mature English cheddar cheese, served on good bread. Correct me if I am wrong, the restaurant in question uses crappy Thai bread and processed cheese?

I just want to ad my two cents I found all the bar/rest. over price there food and it quality fair to poor
that includes mojos irish clock nong ribs steves bar pizza joint by the complex and there are more since the names at the moment are not with me. Now if you want a good lunch for a reasonable price and walk out with your belly full go to the Hotel by the complex buffet 200 baht and the quality of the food is very good
they serve lunch from 11 to 2 pm evening meal is alla carte starts at 6pm I have not seen the menu for the dinner hour. Now some of the places I mentioned are on the list because I don't like swatting flies when I am eating. and as for pizza they are a joke they want over 200 baht for a pizza that is nothing more than a
large slice. Now i seen some of you poster knock pattaya but I will say this in there defence the restaurants in pattaya are better & cheaper than Udon Thani I am not a drinking man so I can not compare alcoholic bev.
from Patts to udon prices. now to those who disagree with me and say why don't you go to patts and I say to them as soon as my business is completed up here I will go. for those who visit patts go to drunks & darelicks on soi 9 and the beach in Jomtien on mon /fri. they have steak night 120 baht very good and on wed is pork chop night all 3 nights give you plenty of food and the steaks & chops are big you will walk away with your belly full and they understand if they don't please you they lose you not like Udon take every one for granted because the town is small and your stuck with there crap

From 747 man. "Thats some rant !! "

Well if you think that is some rant, why would you want to repeat the lot of it. A lot of full repeats on this forum. Can I suggest 'cut and paste' the line or lines you want to reply too, not the whole lot of it. Just thinking it may save space and unnecessary duplication, thats all.

Pattaya has the convenience, not long ago they opened "the avenue'
shopping complex on second road and on the 1st floor is the Villa
market which is 24hrs and has a selection which makes Tops look
like the corner quickie mart. There is also a "24 hour diner" which
resembles the grill at the Foodland if you've ever been there. Good
stuff and even here I'm amazed at the lack of decent places to eat
sometimes. Just decent food at a fair price, but so few restauranteurs
seem to offer that and their customers are the one shot only variety. :(
