Sorry, I give CL two thumbs down
Service - Poor
Food - Poor +

No other customers in restaurant. Hey CL, don't take this the wrong way. You have a great location and potentially great atmosphere. Now all you have to work on his the rule of thumb in operating a successful restaurant 1) smile 2) service 3)efficiency 4) ambience. Good luck!
AussieBoy wrote:Stayed there at CL was ok, no hot water for a few days, Pizza was very thin , cost 200 Baht, they charged me 50 Baht for bringing my own wine to the shop I brought down the road, First time I being charged for Corkage in Thailand, the west is catching up fast.

Enjoyed the Pizza, but same price as here in Oz, and at 300 the Pizza company was dearer than Oz pizza

Staff were a bit stand off, the head Thai manager is a sour face puss, the chef is good. the had trouble with staff from their other place Irish clock while I was there , seems Dad of owner was chatting up the staff, gave it a miss and left after 3 weeks to stay else where

But food passes for me
will go back there again for the blackboard menu

Prior to the new owners I think they had all of the above. Now the help has been slashed, maybe 70% and the ones that are left, don't seem to be happy campers any more.

So as

The owners are still the pommy crew who run Irish pub to?

The woman who was there in Feb was very plesant, she'S a big mumma, talkative and runs a few pubs back in England, seems the current operation needs fine turning

tiffany cafe, would that be the fast food section of piccoma roma or a whole othere restaurant in another area. not a thin crust pizza fan, but their version is the better one that udon offers, especially with some extras, as i like a lot of everything.

best pizza used to be my house, but inconsistant flour and yeast, i've given up trying.

:) Pizza, another of those foods judged by individual tastes! Some like thick crust, others thin,etc.etc. First pizza I had in Thailand had salad dressing on it,and I thought YUK,everyone else eating it,said''Aloi mak''!

 In America, pizza likes and dislikes seemed to be tied to the area of the country where one has grown up!New York,Philly,Chicago and the West coast disagree greatly about what make a good pizza!

:) Fortunately for me,the Pizza Company has enough selection to suit my personal tastes :)

Pizza Company is best in my book. Will also agree with BKKStan as all taste are different. What I might rate a 1 someone else will rate 5. Rating is a personal choice and should be viewed as such.

hey, i resemble that remark.

truer words were never spoken. my taste buds have definitely been americanized. stated before, i come from philly suburbs, which has a couple generation italian history, but have never had anything that equals the philly version of italian food in any real italian restaurant owed and cooked by italians. same with tex-mex and especially pizza. nobody does it bette, yea, i know, pompous and bias, what can i say.

have had some decent thai in the states, although limited experience in states, as ignorant till i came her, then didn't have time to experiment since i stayed here. but nothing equals my favorite restaurants here for thai.

Best Pizza

Post by golden gate » September 21, 2006, 3:24 pm

The best pizza we had was in Vientien, Laos............OMG The crust was thin and chrispy, top with real cheese..........that melt in your mouth.
God I wish they can open in Udon..........
If you want to go it is near the "NUM PU" AREA.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Went to Picola roma - it was very very bland, and expensive. A true Italian would have walked out of that place in disgust.

I agree - Picola Roma is a restaurant to be avoided.

The place next to the complex is 100 times better. It's slightly more expensive, but it's worth it.

Why is it to be avoided? I went there last week, not the best pizza I have ever had but way far from the worst and I thought quite good value considering the size of the meal. Service was friendly and prompt enough, owners wife pleasant. Not much to moan about there, I would go again quite happily.
