Yes you are quite right I spoke to Marli outside the new shop which is indeed next to Irish Clock. I now eat in Irish clock. The new owner is a gentleman of the first order and his meals are (dare I say it) better than before.
Fortunately I am not a lover of fish and chips so really the new restaurant will not interest me =D>

Yes,can confirm what lepi says.....we spoke to Mali last week on coming out of the Irish Clock,as well, and she was sat in front of the new chippy next door.
The grand opening is next week December 1st with fish, chips and mushy peas with salt and vinegar wrapped in the Bangkok Post !
And agree that the Irish Clock is as good as ever.....give it a try.....have a curry then nip next door for fish and chips takeaway on the way home ! ;)

Had a pre - opening fish and chips tasting at Steve's Fish & Chips last night and it was very alroy!

Over indulged with a huge crispy battered cod, chips, battered sausage and fishcakes topped with curry, leaving me with no room for my beer!

This is the nearest you will get to fish and chips on Blackpool promenade!

Congratulations Steve & Marli on opening another professionally run establishment! =D>

Look; this is getting ridiculous. Steve's Sports Bar is open every night except Tuesdays - their day-off.

Thank you for your helpful posts on this subject barstool. As an exercise in promoting Steve's Sports Bar I would suggest that it has been an abject failure & probably put more people off visiting it than encouraging them to do so... :(

Would it be of any help if this thread was closed to avoid confusion with customers. I personally would not like to see Steve (ex Irish Clock) and Steve (Steves sports bar) having a running battle with mayhem and confusion regarding an existing Steves sports bar and hopefully Steves fish n chip shop. Both men are great guys and deserve a bit better than this.

Rob.

The opening thread was about the New Fish & Chip Shop which is opening next to The Irish Clock, not sure where all this confusion is coming from with the involvement of Steve from the Sports bar? :-k

I am very friendly with both Steve's....

Barstool ' please sober up

Dear Bob,
The one thing from Steves Sports Bar you can guarantee, they know where to get fish & chips from, you get get them at Steves FISH AND CHIPS next to Irish Clock , it should be named the Fawlty Towers Fish And Chip Shop, been passed twice this week when it should have been open, give up now as its a pain in the arse with the traffic.
But out of curiosity is it open now?
I know theres been some confusion with Steves Sportsbar but for forum members to say they will not visit that place because there has been some confusion in location of a chippy is a bit childish.
Actually, on the odd occassions i have visited Steves Sportsbars',the clientelle is made up of NORMAL ADULT folks who like a JOLLY good banter and drink. =D> =D>

I would agree that Steve's Sports Bar is a good place to visit, in fact if you care to search you will find only good words written from me about it.
My remarks were not directed at that establishment but at barstool's post on this thread.
He seemed to be the only person that had any difficulty in distinguishing between the place being discussed - The fish & Chip shop being opened by the well known ex-proprietor of the Irish Clock - and any other establishment.
Because of his difficulty his posts were very unhelpful to anyone interested in the topic being discussed.
If I have negative thoughts about any establishment in Udon I usually prefer to keep them to myself as I find few places are immune from some criticism. I often wish that others would show the same degree of latitude... :(
