Black canyon yes please....i did ask this about 5 months back, and i e-mailed black canyon, but the franchise was very expensive. But if there was one in Udon 12 years ago i can understand it would have been hard to make money, but now i think it would do well.

 What makes you think the ingrediants are fresh, unless you mean they are stored as fresh frozen. Then you could say the same for McDonalds

They bake the bread every day and produce is fresh. AS for the coldcuts your guess is as good as mine.

I vote Subway
Oh, yes, Banpaeng, just brought back a dozen pralines -- fantastic with a cup of strong coffee.

Love mufallettas, but they're just so big! Can't finish one by myself.
That's one of the reasons I like Subway -- half or full subs, so you're not stuck with more than you really wanted.

Another reason -- you get the sub the way you want it, and it can be unhealthy (mayo, oil, the works) or healthy (bit of hot mustard). Depends on whether you're feeling righteous that day or not.

on a web site on po-boys..... they call subway's an abomination...... and "Remember a po-boys place isn't a Mcdonalds (thank god for that) it say's.
just a coincidence that's the two resturants what this topic is about.

Subway or McDonald's? Neither one although admit the French Fries at McD's are pretty good. Tried a poor imitation of a Philly Cheesesteak at Subway last month. Bad stuff or maybe it just wasn't their best day.

How about a Miami Sub joint? Now there you can get a half or full Philly Cheesesteak that makes mouth water just thinking about it. All kinds of artery clogging cheese, roll, steak and, my favorite, the sloppy onions all over top of them. =P~

Hmmm, just remembered. The owner was assassinated a few years ago in the streets of Miami by some New York mob guys, it's said. Might be kinda hard to get a franchise now.

or did someone in the mob get a bad sub and take it the wrong way.

and the philly cheesesteak you talk of is making me drool, and it's only 8.30 am.

Yeah, some good eating, BM. Better places than a Miami Sub to get one. Had limited experience in the city of Philadelphia but seemed like there was a sub shop on every corner. LA (who is from Philly?) would know more than I do about it.

For personal choice the healthier Subway filled roll over the tasteless plastic looking modern day hamburger garbage anyday.

But then I sit in the minor demographic as do most of the Subway patrons.
If I was to invest in one or the other in a city the size of Udon it would be the tasteless plastic looking modern day garbage choice. Why? Because it is what appeals to a wide range of demographic's - the fat westerner who wants to pig out on garbage, the modern dumb thai teenager who finds it cool and thinks that it is the sum total of western food type and the equally dumb middle class parents treating their children that have been brainwashed by the MacDonalds advertising.

Oh for the days of a hamburger at 3 in the morning from Big Daddy's or Smokey Joe's where there was a real hunk of steak, a couple of eggs, a couple of sliced onions, a whole sliced tomatoe, several mushrooms, beetroot (do they even know what it is these days?) and served in a bun that you had to use both hands to hold.
"And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll"

yes i was thinking the same.
also the difference between the cost of a Maccy D's and Subway Franchise is probably massive and the resturant would have to be at least 5 times the size, and position is every thing.

I enjoy eating in subway, they are many choices and provide a good customer service. In this coming July, I want to go again and I really missed the burger I ate at that time. And at the same time the price is reasonable.

When in Pattaya I am far more likely to go a SUBWAY than a McDonald outlet. Both food services are excellent for an American-style fast food enterprise.
