Getting a late start on the Net today... still recovering from yesterday. More on that in a moment.

Tomorrow's special came to me after a discussion with some of my weekly "bridge club"

members, who came in for lunch today with their wives. We were talking about different things we miss from home, food included. So tomorrow we'll be offering SLIDERS for the first time. We will use the same delicious spiced beef we use for our famous Bubba Burgers, but of course much smaller. And we'll grill them with onions and serve them on a square bun like the White Castle/Krystal burger joints at home. When I was a teenager I can remember buying a sack full, with fries and a coke, for under a buck! Well we can't sell them that cheap (they don't either anymore), but we'll offer 'em up at 49 baht each, or 3 for 125.

Last night, Loy Krathong, was in a word, interesting. We had our usually busy Wednesday with our regular lunch crowd, a little lull in the late afternoon, then some early diners before the celebrations were to begin. Then the skies opened up, and like every other establishment in the area we were swamped, both literally AND figuratively! It was quite an eclectic group. One Swede, two New Zealanders, one gent from Belgium, all with their Thai SO's, PLUS a handful of locals. Thankfully some of our personal friends were here also and and pitched in serving drinks and food to keep everyone happy. For some strange reason there were a number of Jack Daniels drinkers all at one time, who managed to put a good dent in our stock! After we closed Jun ended up driving a couple of our regular customers home (who had arrived by tuk tuk) and didn't want to ride home in the rain. All in all it ended up being a great day for us. However, I do feel bad for all the folks who had rented outdoor spaces to vend their goods.

WOW! Is that really a COOL BREEZE I feel blowing out of the North?

This must be the first day forecast to be under 30c in months. The air con can certainly use a rest and smelling fresh air is a nice change. Yes, I know it's debatable how "fresh" the air really is after the frequent cleaning of fans necessary here.

Tomorrow's special, Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, and mixed veggies.

Oh it's white gravy. Just with some mushroom flavor. Can't say say if it's "Texas" style or not... how 'bout Tennessee style? And it wont be as salty as the last time. Then we made the mistake of using salted butter AND adding extra salt. Not so good for us old folk.

Walking back from getting a haircut I noticed no waiting right now at Beyond Car Care. It's a nice sunny day... come drop your car off for a dandy clean up and have lunch at Bubba's while you wait. Let them know you're coming here and they'll bring the car down here when they finish!

Just put another pan of meatloaf in the oven... first one cunsumed yesterday by people on our mailing list. Served with home made mac and cheese and creamy mashed potatoes. Washes down very nicely with one (or two) of our lovely Belgian Beers.

Today is the last day of the county fair. I've found in the past it can be a good day for best bargains on some items for sale there, especially larger ones they don't want to have to move tomorrow. You cannot find parking near there, but it's only a 5 minute walk from here.

Also forgot to mention in the previous post that we have tacos available with real CORN TORTILLAS (from Villa market). Served with sour cream and our home made salsa.

Bubba, Tuesdays group was wondering about breakfast muffins this Tuesday (if not to much trouble). Payment upon delivery!!

We'll work out delivery charges thru out the days events, LOL!!!

Again, if not to much trouble we were thinking about making this a regular weekly routine.....a break from chicken on a stick w/ sticky rice!!!

JUST IN CASE the world really is coming to an end on 21 December, Friday, we’re offering a few “Doomsday Specials” at Bubba’s tomorrow:

Bloody Marys are 2 for 1 until noon.

Garlic Cheese GRITS as a side to any breakfast order. Jalapeno CORN BREAD, a great side for our chili, each only 30 baht.

Of course we’ll have our popular Egg Muffins and Breakfast Burrito available.
