Ah yes, it's a question of terminology, depending which side of the pond you're on. Just as we call those lovely little round green veggies "English" peas, and when we put "English" on a que ball (it's called "side" in England).

BUT, to give credit where credit is due, shouldn't we call it the SCOTTISH Open?

The Open is played on about 9 different Link courses I think 6 are in Scotland and 3 in England, but none in Wales so can't be called the British Open !!!

A family member is becoming a monk. I gather this is a huge event for them with much ceremony involved. It's also the anniversary of the tragic death of Jun's mother, so I think we're in for a lot of temple time.

Back open for business after 4 days in the village. Whew, that was EXHAUSTING! Had to watch the last 2 rounds of THE Open Championship on Thai TV, also quite interesting.

As many of our regular customers already know, we have our business up for sale. There are many reasons, none of which involve problems with the business, and are personal. There is no emergency, no time table, and this is NOT a "fire sale". We may well be here another year, or more. Be absolutely assured we will be conducting business as usual until a sale takes place. We sincerely hope our customers, many of whom have become good friends, will understand and continue to support us.

Ian, we were honored that you came by on your birthday yesterday. Another HAPPY BIRTHDAY and thanks to your lovely wife for the round of drinks (which I guess means ultimately YOU paid

). This brings me to something I've wondered about for awhile now. Have the Thais always had the tradition of the person who is having the birthday pays for the celebration, or did they conveniently adapt this as the wealthy (in their eyes) farangs started to arrive?

Cool weather for the next couple days... good time for Bubba's HOT Chili... in the bowl, with Saltines, rice, or a soft dinner roll... OR on a "dog", OR on a plate of fries (chips)... OR as Nachos Grande.

Cool enough to take a nice walk around the lake, feed the fish, and then have a nice lunch! FYI, if you take the full path around Nong Prajak lake it's 3km. If you take the short cut across the swinging bridge it's about 2km. Time for a little exercise? (I'm talking to myself also)
