Would be nice if they made Red Guinness more available for the celebrations.

29th Mr Vark

I still owe Steve a couple of million kip for the Ashes series, i went in to double or nothing on the 1 dayers, but he was in hospital, no doubt he would have taken this up :-" :-" :-" so 4-0 out of a 7 series schedule, looks fine to me.

Start off with a Killkenny no matter what

I do know that Mali went to Bangkok (quite a while ago now- 7/8 months) to do a couple of weeks' Indian cookery course that was running there. I would imagine that the 'style' will be the same as the Indian food available in Bangkok. I would imagine that would also be the source of spices etc. needed for the dishes...
The reason for my original questions were that I knew Mali was booked into an Indian cooking course in Bkk but, to my knowledge, never attended it - because of the problems with Steve's health.

So, I would reiterate:

I've noticed that the "Clock" now have a number of Indian dishes listed on their "specials" board.

Has anybody (on here) tried them yet?

If you have, a few questions, if I may.

1) Are they Indian,Indian - If so from which region?

2) Pakistani, Indian?

3) Bangladeshi, Indian?

4) British (Curry house) indian?

OR......

5) Udon Indian?

Also, are they any good?

Only curryholics need respond!!

Preferably with recommendations on what they have sampled.

;)
What is hope??????

Be First....Try one Zoomer....thats the only way you are really going to know if they are exactly what you are looking for...UK style that we know and love..??...i am sure they won't be, as never found anywhere that can live up to us UK curry loving connoisseurs expectations.
I await your indepth report.

I was at the Irish Clock last week and checked out the front advertising board and it did not mention Indian curries at all.

Checked the menu and did not see any mention of Indian curries.

Asked a waitress (new one) and no knowledge of indian curries.

I know its going off topic for the Clock but "A Beer to Far" bar in Nutty Park does decent Indian curries prepared by Andy former chef at the City Lodge....Rogan Josh,Jalfreizi,Madras etc.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

I have tried Mali's Indian food and its first class, took home a Chicken Korma, very tasty. They can't advertise the Indian meals cos Steve's not been on his cooking course yet. Think its end of September as he's doing it in the UK. Until he get's his licence to cook Indian meals, Mali can't put them in the menus, although she has her certification. Usual bloody red tape. Anyhow don't let that put you of tasting them.

So Mali and anybody cooking needs a licence to sell their foods ??

Steve needs a licence before he can cook, therefore he needs a work permit also ???

So why can other places sell prepared Indian foods, ?? Im presuming the original cooks for this have a licence then ??

All confusing for me

Is the filled land next to the Irish Clock still available for safe(ish) night time parking.

Thanks

Sorry patriot will tell you what I know & then a bit about what I think..
As far as I am aware the ground is still leveled & used as nothing except a car park. Better if you have a pick up as VERY easy to ground the sump on a car on the way out.
It was the 'safe for overnight parking' bit that I am totally unsure about. Personally I would feel safer leaving my car on the street there. The car park is a bit too out of sight if someone took a shine to your wheels, for example.
Parking on the street there is much easier than it used to be. I can usually find somewhere within short walking distance of the Clock.

Thanks for that Bob, I parked there a few months ago while visiting (I live in Ubon now for my sins) and wasn't sure if there had since been any tales of people walking to their cars in the morning to be greeted with a scene of a Liverpool council estate, ie chassis bricked up, wheels missing, burnt out etc.
I've booked up at the Clock anyhow for the few days. (Steve's Sports Bar friday night; yeah, baby :D )
Thanks again.
