By my personal definition, Obama is not black, not white, but biracial and raised primarily in Hawaii an extremely diverse non-judgemental environment.. Thus, to me, no racial affiliation, he like my kids is American..

I understand where you are coming from, and I agree, why HAS colour got to do with anything.

However, Thai people have a 'name' for a certain type of foreigner - farang - and it is based mostly on skin colour, so ask your olive skinned partner 'why do you call us farangs?' and see what she says.

I understood that a "farang" is a foriegner, and it derives from the word for french!! So anyone not from Thailand is a farang... "Farang" is a word specific to Thailand so yes Obama is a farang "here"

So far no Homeland Security official has started deportation proceedings. You'd think some good Republican appointee would be hot on that. After all, if he's not a natural born citizen he must be an illegal immigrant as he's not a naturalized citizen and doesn't have a foreign passport and a visa to be in the US.

The stonewalling the production of required documentation which would be proof of Obama's citizenship is unacceptable. As I understand it, there are two situations in which Obama is not eligible to be a U.S. president if he was born in Kenya or if he became an Indonesian citizen as a young boy.

There is a credible story that Obama was born in Kenya. A copy of a Hawiian certificate of birth is not proof. The original is necessary and may not be proof either. Obama's relatives (his grandmother, half-brother and half-sister were allegedly present at his birth in kenya) say he was born in Kenya. Both Hawiian and Kenya birth documents are being held from public scrutiny. There is a video and voice recording of his Kenyan grandmother who reports that she was at the hospital in Kenya when he was born. That would make him a non-citizen based due to his mother not being old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. citizenship. One source has this entry: "The problem is that the original “vault” certificate setting forth the hospital/doctor’s signature has not been produced. This is of import because Hawaii from 1911 to 1972 permitted people to register their births (after the age of one) by affidavit of the mother. However, in Obama’s case, the statute might have been utilized to ensure that he had american citizenship - even if he was actually born elsewhere. Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the Childs birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence. The parents would be issued a Certification of Live Birth. This is not proof of where the child was born. It only proves that the parents claimed Hawaii as their main place of residence for the prior year."

Another comment: "Obama was, in fact, born in Mombasa, Kenya, but his Cousin, the current Prime Minster, Raila Odinga has ordered his birth records sealed on Obama’s instructions..."

Mr. Obama could put this entire matter to rest and stop all lawsuits if he would just produce the “vault” certificate.

Obama attended school in Indonesia for 4 years, but non-Indonesian students weren’t allowed to attend school there. His father or mother would have had to give up Obama's U.S. citizanship for Indonesian citizenship in order for Obama to attend an Indonesian school.

This man has little public past, everything is a secert. For example, it is curious that his college records and medical have been sealed. If available it could reveal that Obama cited Indonesiaan citizenship or other.

What can be said with some certainty is that Mr. Obama lived off campus while at Columbia in 1981-83 and made few friends. Fox News contacted some 400 of his classmates and found no one who remembered him."

Maybe he could change the law or constitution once he's inaugurated. We wouldn't want Jesse Jackson crying again in the event of the President's deportation.

The Supreme Court held off Friday on deciding whether to grant a hearing in a long-shot lawsuit that would decide whether Barack Obama can constitutionally become president as a "natural born" U.S. citizen.

The Friday list of court orders that denies or grants hearings did not mention the lawsuit, which says Mr. Obama should be disqualified from the presidency because he purportedly acquired the same British citizenship that his father had when he was born.

A spokesman for the court said the decision on whether to hear the suit brought by retired New Jersey lawyer Leo Donofrio is likely to be announced next week.

A decision not to grant a writ of certiorari -- the legal term for the declaration that the justices will hear the case -- would mean that a lower court ruling that dismissed the lawsuit can stand.

The Supreme Court's justices met in a private conference Friday morning to discuss the issue. At least four of the court's nine justices must approve before the case is heard.

Justice Clarence Thomas picked up the petition to hear the lawsuit after it was denied by Justice David H. Souter. Justice Thomas referred it to the full court, which decided to distribute the case for the justices' conference.

Mr. Obama demonstrated his citizenship during his campaign by circulating copies of his birth certificate, which showed he was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961. But unlike many of the lawsuits regarding Mr. Obama's citizenship -- which claim he really was born on foreign soil -- Mr. Donofrio's case concedes that Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii but says he still held foreign citizenship at birth.

"Since Barack Obama's father was a citizen of Kenya, and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of Senator Obama's birth, then Senator Obama was a British citizen 'at birth,' just like the framers of the Constitution, and therefore, even if he were to produce an original birth certificate proving he were born on U.S. soil, he still wouldn't be eligible to be president."

Kenya was British East Africa until it received its independence in 1963.

Legal scholars doubt the court will hear the case. The Supreme Court rarely grants the kind of court orders -- or stays -- sought by Mr. Donofrio. And doing so in this case would set up an unprecedented challenge to the presidency of a man who already has won the election and almost certainly will have taken office by the time any hearings or decisions could occur.

About a half-dozen people who say the court should stop Mr. Obama from becoming president protested in front of the Supreme Court on Friday morning.

"He does not meet the criteria of the Constitution that the Founding Fathers set out," said Roger Bredow, an Internet publisher from Bethlehem, Ga., who has tried to rally lawsuit supporters to block Mr. Obama's presidency.

Valerie Wohllheden, of Alexandria, said the danger is that in deciding the lawsuit, the Supreme Court might bend to "the will of the people" by allowing Mr. Obama to become president despite constitutional provisions.

"Then you've got mob rule," she said. "How can he uphold the Constitution if he's breaking it?"
