I couldn't tell if it was filmed in the south or not, but the people here on the Texas/Lousianna border certainly have a lot more of an accent, including me. Not all of us are that dumb, but I have to admit most here seem to be.

To clarify one thing, shrub is not a Texan, nor a cowboy. If you see him with a cowboy hat he had somebody steal it for him, he doesn't have the guts to steal it himself. The shrub family are NOT Texans, they are carpetbaggers from yankee land and they are not loved by all of us Texans. Some of us are actually bright enough to dislike them intensly. Maybe President Obama should keep GitMo open after all, just to house shrub et-al.

WBU I guess when some one makes a joke about a red neck you take offense to it but in all
honesty I spent a lot of years in the south and if you want to talk about prejudice they wrote the book
they hate blacks Jews catholics Mormons & italians especially new York city dwellers like me and they
did not hide there feelings when they were in the majority so it looks like the pot calling the kettle black

I just want to ad the good ole boys bomb a black church in Alabama killing little children
all because they were BLACK those were red necks KKK and they got away with it for over 30 years
they also killed a couple white boys from N.Y in Mississippi who just happen to be jewish
so when some one makes a joke about toothless red neck it does not compare to killing little black children so when you accuse me of prejudice take a long look at the southern boys first

Not Sure if this will offend any of you, it has many truths and a few exaggerations. It is an American statement but fits the UK /Australian model in so many aspects. I actually find this quite funny, but sadly so true.

Michael Richards better known as Kramer from TVs Seinfeld does make a good point.

This was his defence speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act. He makes some very interesting points...

Someone finally said it... How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman' 'Redneck... and that's OK.

But when I call you, black guy, Kike, Towel head, Sand-black guy, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or ***** ... You call me a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos
the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund You have Martin Luther individual Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi. You have
the NAACP. You have BET... If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR, lives we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.

Wonder who pays for that??

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any colour can be in the Miss America pageant.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ....You know we'd be racists.

There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US .

Yet if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights.

If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.

But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud... But you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists??

There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we have lost most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't
stand up for ourselves!

BE PROUD TO BE WHITE!

It's not a crime yet ... but getting real close!

Astana I have received that email a few times and yes it true so what do we do about it ?
Now we have a black man who is President of the USA so that tell me they can no longer call me
racist since President Obama could not get elected with out the WHITE vote so IMHO I believe
the country came together on election day and I think it will stay that way at least I hope so
there always will be some prejudice it taught to young children by there parents it nothing
more than hate speech and as a white man from Brooklyn N.Y I have been discriminated
against many times mostly by other whites

I wouldn't predict anything coming together just yet. 47% of voters did not vote for Mr. Obama. That's still almost half of the country.

WBU those 47% voted Republican they would have voted the same way no matter who was on the D. ticket
IMO they vote party line just like I do when I vote except when some one I respect and admire like Senator John McCain then I cross party lines I also did it for Attorney General in AZ for a man name Grant Woods
who BTW he got my vote because he took on the Insurance companies and won I also vote for Former Senator D'Amato of N.Y only because I knew him personally and he was a friend of mine BTW if I did
not know Al. D"Amato I would have never voted for him I also voted for Barry Goldwater in 1964
it was a mistake I am happy to see he lost as for a Southern Democrat I cross party lines & vote Republican
I would not support a dixiecrat and Zell Miller was the last of them he even endorsed Bush in 04 over Kerry

This is a stunning subject because it is very difficult to sit on the fence and not have a point of view and I believe it will continue to jangle peoples nerves for a long long time, I also think we have to know who were the 47% (the demographic, particularly in the swing States) and that the Obama campaign was very slick, particularly at a time when Bush was on the ropes in so many areas.

I would like to think that Obama will make a difference but I'll stick with tradition and watch for analysis after his 100th day in office, nevertheless there is a blackman in the Oval office and who would have thought it, even eight years ago when Bush came to power after what I thought was a superb effort by Clinton.

Nevertheless, we are where we are and that is that, but if Obama doesn't pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat he might turn out to be the first and last black President or perhaps the whitemans burden will finally be put to rest and we will enter a phase of humanistic enlightenment which will provide future generations something to remember with pride. As some famous bloke said once 'we live in interesting times' :guiness:

Ron, I cannot presume that anyone who voted in this election "would have voted that way" regardless. I don't know what all of what you wrote means because it has nothing to do with proving your point that the "US came together."

What's true is that your candidate won by 53% of the vote. You are happy and optimisitic. That's fine, but the victory among the popular vote was not of landslide proportions and does not reflect any unity of purpose on the part of voters. The next time you're in a room of 100 people, have 53 stand on one side and 47 on the other. Then explain to them how unified they look.

How many would have stood each side in you analogy after the last Bush election???

I agree with you 100%, Bob. I'm not complaining, only pointing out that the majority of the election was not very large and there was no unifying catharsis taking place in this election. The country is still very much divided.

There has not been an overwhelming popular vote majority for a president since Reagan's two terms. And believe it or not, because there were three candidates receiving a lot of votes in Clinton's two runs, Bill never ever came close to receiving 50% of the popular vote. If I'm not mistaken, he only received 43% in his first run and 47% in the second.

Sgt please excuse my yankee ignorance but who is Shrub ? I also would like to say I spent 16 years in AZ
were I started to wear western clothes such as cowboy hats boots & western cut suits I was told I looked like a Texas oil man when I was dressed in a suit but I must admit I was taken for a real cowboy until I open my mouth and talk
they heard my Brooklyn accent and laughed and also loved it my reply was I am a department store cowboy and
they smiled. / I also wore my western clothes back to N.Y. and yes I got many stares and I was actually hit on by some ladies they thought I was a real cowboy and in my experience in living in AZ and talking with ranchers I had learned a lot about the west and I took advantage of that knowledge with the ladies and it work out for me so
am I a carpetbagger ?
