Anyone in the UK feeling disenfranchised by the Conservative's disarray and discouraged by Labour's dissembling may have been pondering "why not?" with regard to throwing their hand in with the LibDems and voting for them in next year's election.
Here's why not to do that.
"Menstruation is “not just a women’s issue”, Liberal Democrat activists have said in a motion chosen to be debated at their party conference next month. ...
An agenda published by the Liberal Democrats for their annual gathering in Bournemouth includes a motion on period poverty which is to be debated on Sept 23.
The document states: “Conference notes that… menstruation is not just a women’s issue, and also affects some trans and non-binary people."

Gladstone, Asquith and Lloyd-George must be turning over in their graves. The woke/progressives activists are striving to take over the Liberal (Democratic) Party. One wonders how many votes the activists think they will gather through this motion.

I wonder what women (real women, whatever they are) feel about all this trans nonsense
Ultimately I see them as the real losers in all this.

Re: For crying out loud...
there seem to be some serious issues here with some people. Why are you so pre-occupied with this transgender issue? Do you seriously think that people with a progressive viewpoint run all around the place promoting transgender lifestyles? Out of the billions of people on this planet, what percentage of transgenders are there?Laan Yaa Mo wrote: ↑August 22, 2023, 12:46 pmWe are all losers with the exception of the woke/progressives.

Perhaps you should take your own advice. Most of us have bigger fish to fry. But when the woke/progressives try to promote nonsense, it is better to call them out than let it slide by, don'cha think?

The loony fringe... sorry, the activists of the UK's Liberal Democrat party think that the rights of 0.2% of the population are being trampled on and they will be forced into "period poverty" if they are denied access to free menstruation products. This despite the fact that most of this 0.2% do not require these products at all.

And another...
"Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones MBE, who set up the Black Farmer Scholarship and claims to be one of Britain’s only black commercial farmers, insisted the Lioness squad isn’t ‘representative’ of the country as a whole.
Pointing to a newspaper front page on the eve of England’s World Cup final – which ended in heartbreak as Spain triumphed 1-0 – he said: ‘What jumps out at you is that this doesn’t represent diverse Britain.
‘It’s all these blonde, blue eyed girls – and I wish them well – but I do think we need to ask ourselves questions about why it is that there is a lack of diversity.’
He insisted the men’s team would be a different picture and be more representative of the nation."
Good grief. Most of the bla..., ethnically diverse blokes playing in English footie leagues aren't English and thus aren't 'representative' of the country as a hole either, no?

Re: For crying out loud...
If anybody thinks any transgender issue is a woke invention, or if anybody thinks it is a pressing issue, I suggest they get a life. Right-wingers bang on about it as they don't have much more to bitch about it.
How about conservatives looking at real issues, such as the rise and rise of right-wing extremism in the USA and elsewhere in the developed world. That issue impacts on everyone, not a tiny percentage of the population that may be confused about their gender and sexuality.

The Archers’ first lesbian kiss in history ‘should have happened sooner’
"The first lesbian kiss on The Archers “should have happened sooner”, stars of the show have said.
History was made in a recent episode when farm manager Stella Pryor and farmer Pip Archer kissed as part of a storyline on their blossoming same-sex relationship.
The moment was a long time coming, according to Archers stars who have welcomed the recent romantic developments in Borsetshire.
Daisy Badger, who plays Pip, said that the first lesbian relationship in the BBC Radio 4 series’ 70-year history “should have happened sooner”.
She added that the storyline came naturally and has welcomed the development as “obvious and normal”..."
Yeah, right... old Dan Archer will be spinning like a bloody top

Re: For crying out loud...
The only real issue is the rest room thing. I wouldn't want a transsexual person in a rest room with my daughter. I see it as a simple biological issue. If the person has a penis, they should by using the men's room. A simple fix. I do understand that once in a great while, Mother Nature gets her wires crossed and through no fault of their own, those unfortunate people must choose the male or female gender. That said people born males should not be competing with females in sports regardless whether their penis and testicles are removed or not. There ARE differences between men and women's bodies. As far as being legally married, so what? They want to subject themselves to messy divorces, up to them.
Re: For crying out loud...
Glalt, sounds so logical doesn't it. I agree with everything you said and I suspect the majority of people do also.
So begs the question why are certain people pushing this ideology so much

Re: For crying out loud...
I take it "The Archers" never featured much in your cosseted childhood? Sunday afternoons on BBC Home Service and mum listening to 'Woman's Hour'. Nowadays on Radio 5 Live, it's a whole weekend of wimmins 'period drama' interspersed with affected individuals banging on about how wonderfully inclusive and lovey dovey they feel.
Having said that, I really, really like Owain Wyn Evans, the unapologetically flamboyant BBC presenter and his early morning weekday show on Radio 2. He caught my eye as the weatherman on BBC morning telly before it was hit by that 'scandal' a few months back. He's a shithot drummer too.

It appears, at least to me, that common sense is not common in many of these twisted people. People are always entitled to their opinions, BUT, I resent them trying to push their opinions onto those of of us who have common sense. Better to simply ignore them.
