Quote from Bangkok Post, link in Aad's post above
April 27 is expected to be the hottest day of the year, according to the Meteorological Department. On that day, the sun will be directly above Thailand, causing the temperature to increase, said Somchai Baimuang, director of the weather bureau.
I'm glad I didn't buy all those hair driers in the cold season! ;)

It's certainly has been HOT as of late. Have to compliment the Thais they have stamina. Traffic
cops and others standing and working in the sun all day long and don't even appear to break a sweat?
That's tough. I'm about ready to begin a nocturnal schedule, this is really some oppressive heat?

Understand that they're good for warming up meals?

April 27th the hottest day? Weather Channel showing high 92F with 60% chance of t'storms on the 27th. Tomorrow and Friday look to be scorchers. Temps expected to hit 100F. (Hot!)

Heard it could be 47 but then last year it rained too muchalmost spolit the rice crop. Weather is cyclical and even more so now, Nonghan 10 years ago was under 2 meteres of water for about 2 days, so nothing is guaranteed. Hot cold wet, as Thailand seems not to have kept accurate records then predictions are hard, but I can tell you that last year the wet season was very wet the best for farmers since the previous 5 years.
As for heat well if it gets there it will not be for long and after that it will rain, humidity is high this year higher than last, but then i do not keep records either.
Talking about malaria none reported for udon Thani but dengue certainly one to be careful about.
Enjoy Thailand.

What's the name in Thai of those frozen white towles used to get in the prepackaged things that go POP!!! when you slap them open? Now I just see more of the rolled up home maid types frozen in a bowl and smelling like the last three guys that wiped off their fat sweaty heads with it, a sign of the economy I guess.
It's amazing how much one little frozen towel can keep you from going over into the heat stroke deepend.

Don't know the Thai name, but they have them at Ngee Soon in the paper towel/napkin section.

Didn't hit 43 -- not even close. At least where I am.

High 30s a few days.
