Having worked in late night entertainment venue's for 20 year's,may i explain how this situation should have been handled.
Two doormen behind him and a third in front,the two behind restrain a arm each wrist and elbow,they ask him to accompany them to the door,third doorman eill not get involved unless customer start' to kick out,he will restrain his leg's escorted off premises.
Yes i know this is thailand and that exscuse is wearing very thin.

Yeah but it is Thailand...not an excuse, if the doorman where SIA regd as in UK... thats how it should have been done...but its not, They don't, and it wasn't... ,TiT.

You go in a bar...you order refreshments and drink them...you also have a little fun if you like...you pay your check-bin...you leave., well thats what i do anyway.

you don't become rowdy...you don't shout into the managers face...you don't bash on the bar counter...you don't 'offer' everyone out....thats what i don't do anyway.

He was telling them he was going to get them shut down tommorrow and to give him his drink back..so his drink was cleared away or something...? No Big Deal Really was it, probably only a mouth full left anyways.

And notice the 'manager' (or who ever he was) didn't understand what he was saying.....but i think he knew all too well what was going on.

What does make me wonder though, is that how someone just happened to be videoing this incident, it does not appear to be a CCTV video, as the camera zooms in, and the angle of the shots change

Interesting that the "Don't f**k with the Thais mate" fahlang didn't move to diffuse the situation or help. Long-time resident expat? Did he make the video? (Ray33333 on YouTube). He just held his ground and kept on filming the action and didn't do anything to help.

We are all aware he got what he deserved for mouyhing off but the way he went down was sickening and in my opinion no 1 deserves a further kicking when your already out ive seen it happen many times and the 1s comiting the coup de grass have normally got a kicking for doing it. I have also known mates who have been knocked out before they hit the floor and because they cannot put there hands out to to ease the fall they have cracked there head had an embolism and died. luckily the guy in the vid just woke up and learned a lesson plus he probably woke up mobile less and wallet less. The thai mentality is indeed kick him while he is down i can remember i had a m/cycle accident in patters and when i hobbled to the side of the road with bridgestone printed on my foot i ask a thai shopkeeper for some water to pour on my leg he did give me a bottle then proceeded to charge me for it.

Yeah, it happens a lot. Chaps get into late night fisticuffs and someone cracks their head when they go down - then the other guy is looking at manslaughter or murder.

Thais people in the video were not trying to restrain the mob, the kicking of the already unconcious bloke
would have continued for another 15-20 seconds. This was a very "mild" incident. As Ulick McGee points out,
there appeared to be 5-6 staff right there? Could they not have escorted him out? He was belligerent but I
did not see him attempt to strike anyone? While the vast majority of Thais do seem kind and tolerant to
a fault, I have to say I've witnessed a few (particularly in the nightlife sector) who enjoy beating up drunken
tourists, who you have to admit, are little more than human punching bags. A really brave feat that. Even
muay-thai does not teach folks to repeatedly strike those on the ground already unable to defend themselves.
And what did he hit him with? was that an elbow slash or a knuckle-duster strike? The way the Thai man
slunk away after he blindsided the guy leads me to believe he subconciously knew it was a cheap shot? Usually
there all running down the street, leaving the bar-girls to come-up with some believable story for the police.
