Situated on Sukhumvit soi 11,this hotel has been part of the Bangkok scene for almost 50 years.Very popular with American servicemen during the Vietnam war.
I've stayed there a few times in the last 10 years.....decent location,relatively quiet,swimming pool,not luxury but good value,friendly staff.
I'm sure quite a few members of Udon Map have stayed there over the years.
Its being pulled down to make way for a new condominium......thats progress, had its day I guess....

Spent many months there in the early '90s, sometimes on extended stays while my accommodation was being sorted.
The old gives way to the new, I suppose. The Fed's sister hotel on Soi 19, the famous Honey Hotel, will probably not be around too much longer as well.
These places have real atmosphere and some sense of family if not luxury - one could feel at home in the midst of an intimidating metropolis.
I did appreciate the name, though, when clients and colleagues asked where I was staying. The same couldn't really be said of the Honey.
