Interesting stories to follow.
I can't be the only one that over the years has seen many news items that initially make the headlines but over time they seem to disappear from view and we never seem to know the outcome, so I thought if they are all kept in one place we can at least endeavour to keep track of them .well here's a starter.http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-42959262.
The Story is about the arrest of the CEO and three partners of Thai /Ital company arrested for hunting and killing protected wild animal species in a Thai national park, including killing the very rare black panther .I personally give credit to the park wardens involved in apprehending the poachers but am interested in the outcome, already the company shares are dropping so we know the markets reaction.
Italian/ Thai co you may remember were the major contractors for building Suvarnbhumi airport and the Skytrain . A beautiful animal killed by these people in the pursuit of their perverted idea of fun .

Yes, interesting story, indeed. Makes me wonder how his sentence will compare to the poor villagers arrested last year for picking mushrooms in a national forest......and given long prison terms.

Re: Interesting stories to follow.
kinda of amazing the difference in the two media outlets' stories. 4 registered weapons as opposed to a veritable arsenal... https://www.bangkokpost.com/news/crime/ ... hais-house Seeing as how the Nation threw out photos of the guns neatly arrayed and wrapped in plastic along with the tusks, how could the BKK Post get it so different?

If the Thai/Ital lot get long sentences, will we all get sentenced to years and years of delays to the Nong Khai Rd/Ring road over/underpass ![Anxious 8-[](./images/smilies/eusa_shifty.gif)

Re: Interesting stories to follow.
that might happen if the "suspect" does a runner with most of his assets and the whole consortium collapses,

Interesting ....
"Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha had instructed police to handle the case honestly in accordance with the law"
I wonder how he expects the police to handle the case if he didn't tell them![Eh? :-s](./images/smilies/eusa_eh.gif)

Many rich people’ poaching illegally despite better enforcementnational February 07, 2018 17:50 By The Nation 3,107 Viewed
The construction company tycoon arrested recently on charges of poaching in a wildlife sanctuary is not the only millionaire who enjoyed an “adventurous lifestyle” including hunting wild animals, a source in the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry said on Wednesday.
In the past few years, many groups of rich people have reportedly sneaked into protected forests – with the help of officials – and hunted wild animals. However, the numbers had decreased as authorities intensified their enforcement of conservation laws, although some people still conducted illegal activities, the source said on condition of anonymity. The source said groups of rich people preferred to hunt along the border in Kanchanaburi province and in Kangkrajarn National Park in Phetchburi province.
Some groups of hunters also posted photos of dead animals on their Facebook pages. “Officials have made their best efforts to take legal action against [illegal hunters],” the source said. Given the stricter regulations relating to wildlife sanctuaries, he could not believe that Italian-Thai Development company president Premchai Karnasuta and his group would dare to hunt in the area. He added that the group had been granted permission to enter the wildlife sanctuary “to study the nature”. One of Premchai’s friends reportedly asked a former high-ranking official in the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry to talk to a current senior official in the Natural Resources, Wildlife and Plants Ministry to facilitate the trip. As the group were guests of senior officials, junior officials at the entrance of the wildlife sanctuary let their car enter the compound without it being searched. The source added that when forest rangers raided an area near Premchai’s campsite early Monday after hearing gunshots, they found his subordinate before finding the company executive nearby. Given those circumstances, the source said he believed it might be difficult to charge Premchai with hunting

Taking an idea from history. Let the punishment fit the crime.
He should be made to take food into a hungry black panther's cage at a zoo
If he gets eaten by the panther and it survives it will prove he did not have a poison heart and so must have been innocent.
If the panther does not kill and eat him the panther has sensed the black heart and he must be guilty and should therefore receive the death sentence.
I'm sure there are ALREADY members of the Animal Rights Organisations around the world plotting action on Thai/Ital sites
