Three UK tourists attacked by gang of 30 in Thailand
POLICE in Thailand are investigating an attack by more than 30 men on a group of British tourists.
Holidaymaker Thomas Patrick suffered a cracked skull after he and two friends were attacked as they ate at a food stall in Nakorn Sawan province, about 130 miles north of Bangkok.
The attackers, including a soldier, began kicking and punching the three Britons, whose home towns are not known, on Sunday morning.
Mr Patrick and two other men - William Stone and Francis Peter - were taken to a hospital, but the same group of attackers reportedly stormed the hospital room and continued to beat them until police arrived.
A police spokesman said Mr Patrick's condition was stable, adding the two other Britons were slightly injured. Police arrested and charged a soldier and another man with assault but are continuing to hunt the other attackers.
Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont said the incident must be thoroughly investigated by police and the army.
"I believe it will not affect the image of the Thai army as it was more of an isolated incident that involved individuals. The Thai army does not encourage their men to act like hooligans."

You know this seems to be one of the biggest worries my has about me. Obvioulsy it does happen, if someone is acting strange she really doesnlt like if I react to it. It may be bad thinking to believe that if you mix it up with a Thai, that you will be dealing with one. Of course my moto is you have to catch me to hit me
''Patrick and two other men _ William Paul Stone and Francis Benjamin Peter _ were taken to a hospital. But the same group of attackers stormed the hospital room and continued to beat them until police arrived, Pranom said.''
''He said his group did not intend to hurt Patrick but the fighting erupted after a conflict between his group and Patrick’s Thai friends.''
Gee,I didn't read anything about Patrick's Thai friends being at the hospital!Sounds like some good old falang bashing to me!

My Thai GF read this story in a Thai newspaper and told me about it. According to the paper, the Brits were drunk and kicked a car belonging to a Thai woman, and that set off the fight. All this happened at apprx. 3AM.
My question: What were these British "tourists" doing on the street in Nakon Sawan at 3AM?

well if it was Udon i guess they may of been tucked up in bed by 12, must of been out drinking and got the munchies happens all the time, had to be a reason behind the attack,so if the Thai newspaper is correct that is the reason, coupled with the possibility that they where shouting their traps off being disrespectful in some way.My question: What were these British "tourists" doing on the street in Nakon Sawan at 3AM?
Mmm the street food Dining experiance...so not only did they get the possibility of getting a little food poisoning causing a sudden rush to the nearest smelly toilet, but got a beating too.bkk post wrote:as they dined at a roadside food stall Sunday
and can you actually "Dine" at a road side street stall,i know Nakon sawan is chinese orientated but the street vendors sound very up market, dinner jackets to be worn maybe ??
Disclaimer: 99.9% of "diners" do not get food poisoning from eating street food, but according to some you will get it and end up in hospital, and if you annoy Thai's at 3.00am you are also liable to end up in Hospital too.Just a Light hearted post Thanks.
