PATTAYA WOMAN DRUG DEALER TRIES TO ESCAPE POLICE CAPTURE BUT DIES IN THE ATTEMPT

http://www.pattayadailynews.com/shownew ... 0000009237

An elusive female drug dealer who had always managed to avoid police capture in the past was finally almost caught in a raid in Soi 2, Jomtien Beach Road on 15 May 2009. However, although 2-months pregnant, she leapt off a fifth-floor balcony in an escape attempt, but later died from her injuries.

At 04.00 am, on 15 May 2009, Pol.Lt.Col. Sawai Ong-art, Pattaya Police Investigator [Dong Tan branch] was notified by a Police Investigative Team Member that a woman had fallen from the fifth floor of a building in Soi 2, Jomtien beach road while resisting arrest. Police accordingly rushed to the scene with a paramedic rescue team.

At the building No. 144/150 Jomtien Soi 2, Miss Pao, [32] was found, lying unconscious on the ground in the bushes behind the building. She was badly injured and had sustained many wounds to her body and blood was pouring out of her nose and mouth. The rescue team gave her first aid and rushed her to Banglamung Hospital, but she unfortunately died en route.

Later on, Pol.Lt.Col. Sawai, reported to the press that a Pattaya Police Investigative Team had raided Miss Pao’s room as she was a known drug dealer and they were determined to apprehend her. This time they were successful in catching her and some friends red-handed, while they were in the process of taking drugs. When the police team stormed in, though, all the drug takers managed to escape from the room in different directions. According to the police team report, Miss Pao had apparently run to the balcony behind her room and leapt off, falling to the ground. Although the police missed the majority of druggies, they did manage to arrest two men, Mr. Bunjerd Prasatyah, [36], and Wichai Pajon,[25], both with Yah Bah on them. Police subsequently searched Miss Pao’s room and found drug consuming kit, some Yah Bah and Yah Ice, which they took as evidence.

A police team spokesman later elaborated that Miss Pao was a well known drug agent in the soi. They had apparently tried to arrest her many times before but she had always managed to escape. However, this time the team assumed that as Miss Pao was 2-months pregnant, she wouldn’t attempt to escape, certainly by jumping over the balcony. This assumption was sadly proved false, however, when she did just that.

Police filed an incident report and will follow up with the police investigation team.

So there's a bit of drug taking going on on the fifth floor of the building. Then police raid the joint and a number of drug takers escape - how? Then girly drug dealer attempts to jump from the fifth floor and dies but they didn't assume she'd do that because she was 2 months pregnant? How did they know she was pregnant?

Sounds like the usual BiB jive ass honky ---- to me.

100,000 Baht robbery at apartment complex in Soi Beokeow.

Just before Daybreak on Tuesday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chatchai from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Ora House Apartments located in Soi Beokeow to deal with a break-in at a ground floor apartment. The owner of the building is Khun Supansar aged 30 who lives on the ground floor. She was out at the time with her foreign boyfriend and other friends and when she returned home in the early hours she realized that a window had been broken and her room had been ransacked. Items stolen include 1,100 Pounds Sterling, 10,000 Baht, a mobile phone, a digital camera, three Buddhist emulates and some gold jewelry. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at 100,000 Baht. During the investigation, Khun Supansar suggested the prime suspect was a former cleaner that worked for her until she was sacked 2 months ago. Her details are now with Police who are attempting to locate her at this time. Fingerprint impressions were taken from the room and are now being analyzed as Police attempt to catch the person or persons responsible for the break-in.

The common theme to so many of these burglaries involve thieves who were given their own keys or allowed access to the premises to survey for a burglary? 1,100 lbs sterling how much is that? too many thieves, too few police

They broke a window to get in, so no need for keys, but i agree on the common theme, bars on windows, and a change of locks if a disgruntled Employee/staff have left.

Russian couple arrested on charges of passing fake British banknotes

Mr Evgeny Viktorov, a 28-year old Russian male, and his Russian girlfriend, were arrested inside the Kasikorn bank, located at the Outlet Mall on Thepprasit Road in Jomtien, on Wednesday afternoon after allegedly trying to exchange fake British banknotes for Thai baht. Police were called by bank staff after the pair had attempted to exchange a total of 80 British banknotes, with a value of about 80,000 baht. Officers took the pair back to their rented house in Soi Ngern Plub Wan where police uncovered a further stash of British banknotes, all of which turned out to be fake and increased the overall value to around one million baht. Mr Viktorov allegedly told police his girlfriend had found the money hidden away in the house about a week ago. The pair had been renting the premises for nearly a month. They helpfully suggested the previous occupants of the house must have been British and may simply have forgotten to take the fake banknotes with them when they moved on, leaving Mr Viktorov and his girlfriend to believe they had struck something of a jackpot. Police are not convinced by this explanation and intend to undertake further investigations before determining what course of action they will pursue. At present the pair are occupying a jail cell, where it’s just possible the female is hoping to miraculously uncover a gold seam.

Motorcyclist died in Thailand

4:50pm Thursday 21st May 2009

A MAN from Worcestershire who was travelling in Thailand died after the 110cc motorbike he was riding collided with a car, an inquest was told.

Anton Kwiatek, aged 32, of Lavender Walk, Evesham, suffered a fractured skull after a head-on crash with a blue Honda Civic on Pattaya Road, Pattaya.

The media advertisement consultant was taken to Chon Buri hospital on Friday, October 3, 2008, but died from his injuries three days later.

Worcestershire coroner Geraint Williams said he had been given “limited” information from the Thai authorities about the death.

Mr Williams, sitting at Stourport Coroner’s Court, said: “There was a collision, I don’t know precisely how it happened, I don’t know the lead up to it and I don’t know the speeds at which the vehicles were travelling.

“I am not going to make findings about the speed because I can’t.”

Mr Williams recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Black Money Scammer arrested by Pattaya Police.

Black Money scams have resulted in people around the world losing large amounts of money. It works by the scammer befriending an individual and persuading them to lend them money to purchase chemicals which are used to wash black pieces of paper which the scammer claims is fake bank notes. The scammer will normally promise the victim that they will receive double their original investment in fake bank notes. One such scam took place earlier this month in Konkaen Province when the victim, Khun Nid met a Cameroonian National who claimed he had escaped to Thailand from Cameroon to avoid the ongoing war there. The scammer, later named as Mr. Frank Niya aged 37, persuaded Khun Nid to hand over 500,000 Baht with the promise that the money would be used to purchase the chemicals which will transform the money into US Dollars. Mr. Niya claimed that he was the son of a powerful politician in Cameroon and was able to purchase the chemicals through a source at the US Embassy in Bangkok. For her troubles, she would receive the equivalent of 1 Million Baht in fake notes in return. A meeting with the scammer was later arranged here in Pattaya with Khun Nid, the owner of a local diving center here in Pattaya, and her foreign husband. They were told that there was a problem and he required an extra 1 Million Baht to purchase a new batch of chemicals. For reassurance they were shown a suitcase full of the black paper and powder which he claimed was the chemical in the process of reacting with the paper. At this point they realized they had been scammed and Mr. Niya was detained at a location in Central Pattaya until the Police arrived. Mr. Niya confessed that he was involved in Black Money Scams around the world and is now under investigation at Pattaya Police Station and has initially been charged with fraud pending further questioning.

110 people admitted to Hospital with Food Poisoning as checks are made on restaurant in Naklua.

On Friday Morning 60 government workers from Chang Mai were rushed to Banglamung Hospital after contracting suspected food poisoning. Medical staff were overwhelmed as moments later another 50 people who were staying at a Hotel in Jomtien were admitted with similar symptoms including acute diarrhoea and sickness. It was determined that both groups ate at the same restaurant on Thursday Night which is located in Naklua. Later on Friday teams from the Public Health Department were dispatched to the restaurant and conducted checks on the food, the results of which will be known on Saturday. It was noticed by one journalist that one of the chemicals they were using was past its “Best Before” date, however the team assured us that the chemical could be used up to 6 months after the expiry date. The Restaurant, which had previously been awarded a “Good Food Clean Taste” award, is now under investigation by the team and samples of feces from the victims are also being analysed.

PATTAYA IMMIGRATION POLICE ARREST BRIT FUGITIVE CIGARETTE SMUGGLER

A British cigarette smuggler was arrested by the Pattaya Immigration Police on 27 May 2009 after Interpol had asked for their co-operation in apprehending the man. He was found to be in possession of a false passport, masquerading under a bogus name and nationality, as well as having entered Thailand illegally. He will be sent back to the UK for prosecution.

At 5.30 pm, on 27 May, Pol. Col. Arnonnat Kamonrat, a Pattaya Immigration Investigator and his official team arrested Mr. Patrick Keeley, [50], a British national at his house, in Grand Park Village, Nong Prue. The police were in the possession of an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya court, indicating he had been charged with smuggling two containers of cigarette into the UK. The original charge was made in an English court in 2005, the accused having fled the UK to seek refuge in Thailand.

Pol. Col. Arnonnat announced to the press that Pattaya Immigration Police had been contacted by the Thai branch of Interpol on behalf of the UK branch, asking for their co-operation to arrest Keeley after learning that he had been living in Pattaya for 4 years.

During the arrest, Keeley showed police a fake Irish passport with a different photo, due to expire on 19 July, 2009; indicating that he was masquerading under a false name with a bogus nationality; his real name is apparently Royston Jones.

Initially, Keeley will be charged with entering Thailand illegally on a bogus passport in a false name, after which he will be sent back to the UK for prosecution.

English Tourist badly beaten on Pattaya Beach Road.

Just before dawn on Thursday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sompon from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital follow reports from medical staff who admitted an English Tourist who had been badly beaten on Pattaya Beach in front of Soi 10.

Mr. Peter aged 35 sustained a 5cm long deep cut on his head and a broken left arm.

He was able to explain to Police that two Thai Women and two Thai Men conducted the attack but the victim refused to reveal possible motives behind the assault.

We spoke with witnesses on Pattaya Beach who claimed that the victim was having an argument with one of the female attackers prior to the attack and she was asking him for money which he allegedly failed to pay to her following a sexual encounter.

Witnesses claimed he refused to pay which was soon followed by the vicious attack whereby the Thai Men used planks of wood.

Without the victim’s side of the story Police can only assume he was attacked for the reason stated by the witnesses and are now attempting to find the attackers.

Two Indian Tourists caught out by transsexual who steals 2,000 US Dollars from them following sexual encounter.

In the early hours of Friday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Pongsawat from Pattaya Police Station was called to an apartment block in Soi Doodee in Central Pattaya following a complaint received from two Indian Tourists who had just been robbed after they were taken to the location by one transsexual. Mr. Singh aged 27 and Mr. Saman aged 3o, both practicing Lawyers back in India, explained that they saw three transsexuals on Pattaya Beach. They approached them and suggested that they have some late night fun. The two men were taken to the apartment block by one of the transsexuals who promised that the other two would follow. Both men received massages and other services from the transsexual inside one of the rooms and as the two men left they decided to take a taxi back to the Beach. However, the money inside their wallets had been substituted for pieces of paper. By now the transsexual had left with their money totaling 2,000 US Dollars. A report of the incident was made and the victims were informed that they would probably not see their money again.
